See if the full FXZ works for you.

Use RSD Lite to flash it. If that works, let me know. That will wipe the contents of your phone including your sdcard so make sure it's all backed up properly first. If that works, let me know as I'll have to look into what's going on.

Hot damn Samuri you're the bomb! I was experiencing exactly the same thing and had tried all the same options Daemoen tried (many, many, times) without luck. I tried this method (download the zip & run RSD Lite) and my Bionic is no longer a brick. Thank you!!!

A question for those with this weird black screen issue. Were any of you that are getting this ever on any ICS leak before or are you coming straight from 905?

Kuel. Were you coming from 905 or did you have a previous ICS leak?

In my case, my phone had never seen any of the ICS leaks. Kinetix Theory Rom with SS to 905 with HOB, ota was failing, so changed up quite a bit of things, including OS to install (was using a mbp ret with usb3 and virtualization), setup a laptop specifically for phone tricking at this point, USERSD option worked with the full FXZ.

Thanks much Sam :), been running ICS since yesterday, had to replace the stock motoblur, it didnt have the same size widgets :| on the bright side, major improvement in battery life now that its settling in. Smart Actions seems neat too. Now if only pandora and my cd reciever would behave like they are supposed to..... oh well, bt audio works fine, so good enough.

Thanks. Then I think I know why this is happening to some of you and not others and why the full FXZ fixes it. It has to do with webtop. So if anyone else has this issue and wants to try to fix it without doing the full FXZ routine, get the webtop installer, boot the phone into AP Fastboot manually, and run the Repair WEBTOP option on the utility menu. If anyone tries it, let me know if it works.

Yea, it's a great build. I've been loving ICS through the leaks and watching it develop. Can't wait to do the same for JB.

My install that I use to develop doesn't have any updates in it at all. Just the 246 FXZ.

Sorry ...I just installed new over top of last old one. I deleted the 905 fxz but still have all the previous leaks in directory. At least I have the folders didn't check inside them.

____....this is not my day. There's a bug in the webtop support. You all will have to wait for 9.2.

Just so you know my dedication, I'm intentionally trying to recreate the problem on my own phone so I can document exactly how to fix it for you guys.

Lol... I never realized I was going to create a rats nest by finding an "issue" :| At least we know there is *very little* risk of actually corrupting your phone (since you at least know what youre doing, compared to 99.9% of people coming to the forums)

Yea I know what I'm doing. I won't lose any data doing this. ;) The fix is simple though. For those with the black screen of death issue, follow these directions:

For those with the black screen of death issue AND/OR those coming from 905 you must do the following:

o) Install the WEBTOP installer from the OP
o) Reboot to AP Fastboot mode manually (Power + vol down)
o) On the utility menu, select Repair WEBTOP
o) When that completes, go to the main menu and select 246 FXZ options
o) KEEP FXZ

Done. All fixed.

I took out webtop because none of us need to flash it. And it's ____ing huge. But those coming directly from 905 or a previous version need to have the ICS webtop flashed once. So, they'll have one extra step to do. I've found a couple bugs that I'm squashing, too, but, 9.2 won't be ready for a while since it's almost complete rewrite of the flashing step. I'll make it easier for 905 users in this next version. If they're totally screwed and need to fix it before I get 9.2 done, they can fix it with Fastboot flash mode and the repair webtop option on the utility menu.

I don't think they're doing the cables anymore. They haven't had them in over 2 months. The adapters are AWESOME. Stick them on any mini-usb cable and you're good to go. I got 2 of them.

Ok, I just completed the HOB and am waiting for the phone to finish rebooting. It is taking a while though and isn't a normal reboot so I think something may be wrong.

I was stock 905 with 4ever root. Downloaded and installed the 9.1 installer, 246 fxz, and RSD setup. Phone is on charge only, fully charged battery, USB debugging on, I uninstalled Bionic Bootstrapper last night and cleared cache.

When the process started I chose fastboot mode, it booted to fastboot, and followed all the steps until finish. Through the process I had the droid standing up with the geoprism thing spinning in his belly. I waited for the progress bar on that to finish before I hit a key to progress to the next step, which I think was the finish. My phone rebooted with no boot logo, but I heard the sound of it, and now it's just a black screen and doing a little vibrate every 20 or so seconds. Any ideas what's going on?
