Um. Webtop has nothing at all to do with preinstall and safestrap. It's not the issue here. This is a full FXZ he's using so something else is wrong. Just not sure what.

My bad. Big thing is I didn't want him to try going back to 905 lol

Agreed. I'm running through the HoB KEEP DATA option now myself to verify.

So I carefully followed all the steps (thought so anyways). The script ran fine, said it was all successful. Now it rebooted, did the green man, I heard the noise it normally makes, saw the moto sign. Now the screen is on, but black, buttons lit up, and it will vibrate once every 20 secs. What did I do wrong, what can I do now.

I got the same thing. I checked the OP and looks like everything was followed. Did we miss something?

Ok, will grab the full FXZ and try that now. I sent you the full details of what has been going on. I was indeed using the *very first* safestrap release back when it was first put out for the bionic, so it had the partitioning and all that

-- Note, I did not use the *KEEP DATA* option initially, as I did not see that part specified as a mandatory choice required in the steps

Hey all, as I know Sam doesnt want us pestering him with questions, not sure if anyone else has run into this. Downloaded everything, including the latest files, ran HOB 9 with the new 246FXZ, it applies the updates just fine, everything seems ok. Phone reboots after all the work is done, goes through the boot sequence... comes to the point where it should normally be displaying the UI... and nothing. It *does* get detected as connected to windows. I have tried both the keep data, wipe data options, as well as several factory resets. Anyone have any ideas. Maybe I can roll back to .905 again and then forward again, will give that a shot next. I'll watch for any suggestions to work on this.

Thanks :)

I'm having this same issue... I'll try the full fxz/RSD to see if that will fix it.

One thing I don't think people are understanding....after the FXZ options, the phone will reboot....it runs an automated script because we flash the radio. That will boot into recovery and install the radio. That takes quite a while. (You'll see the green android with a spinning circle). You need to be patient on that as it takes a while.

mine got past that stage, I let it sit for about half an hour after the phone and program stopped doing anything, the computer had already recognized the drives on the phone and only a black screen was displayed.

I did see that and waited. It rebooted a few times but now it's stuck with a blank screen and it vibrates every 20 seconds or so. What now? Try FXZ again?

OK I think I followed all the steps exactly and I'm having a serious issue. I am trying to go from .905 to .246 with FXZ. It runs through the application fine. After the last step the phone reboots and then just sits on a bright black screen. I leave the phone connected tot he computer. It's been sitting there for five minutes. Suggestions?????? PLEASE?????

All those having issues....USE THE FULL FXZ. There's no reason to use the HoB now that the FXZ is out there.

If I understand RSD lite correctly, to use the FXZ and RSD lite, we have to put the phone in charge only mode... but I cant, because there is nothing on the screen, and I know it isnt in charge only mode because the computer is recognizing the drives....

:/ any suggestions?

HUH? To flash an FXZ you put the phone in AP Fastboot mode.
