You can feel free to help with that kind of $#!7 if you want. But it's a SERIOUS waste of my time. I don't think people get how much ____ing time I put into this. Am I really expected to teach someone how to do a ____ing file copy to an sdcard? Not gonna happen. I said it before, if you can't follow BASIC instructions you should NOT touch your phone.

Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome app/utility. The FAQ's and all the work done to make HoB what it is today is amazing. AND... i'm sure its been said many times over, I love your answers to questions. Right up my alley, SamuriHL :)

I was being literal. They didn't ask how to use the HoB to do it. They asked if I had manual instructions. Which I don't. Cause in spent 4 months writing automation to do it... Just sayin

Ouch.

Yeah, support can suck sometimes, especially when no one reads what you post.

Nothing better than sending an email to everyone letting them know a server will be down and getting twenty calls because the server is down.

I know you were lol - but you didn't even do your usual smartarse "Oh, theres a FAQ?" comment, so I figured I'd put it in there.

The biggest problem is that those with very little understanding (i.e. just enough to actually understand what to do by reading the prompts) lead those with even less understanding.

But, Sam, you have to remember one thing also - non-technologically-inclined people get very antsy when something like this goes wrong - and they will ask these sort of very basic questions b/c they are absolutely terrified that they're $300 daily-driver absolutely-have-to-have-it-working-phone is perma-bricked, and / or that they will perma-brick it if they do even one thing wrong (which is how they got into the present $#!7 storm of a mes that they are already in in the first place). I'm betting even money that Alex was in a mild panic and whether you like it or not, panic --> fight or flight --> a shutdown of most cognitive processes in most people's brans. There are a a few of us (yes, I mean me) that thrive on that state of being, but most can't handle it and completely throw logic out the window.

Which is why I very clearly state this isn't a process for n00bs that don't know what they're doing.

I installed .246 Saturday afternoon. One minor issue that changing USB Ports cleared up. After that it went flawless for this dumb dumb dummy.

but I find myself coming back to read these threads for the entertainment they provide.

Thanks SamuriHL HOB work perfectly.

My 2 cents for all the nOObs is install drivers, HOB, it's components, plug your phone in, place it in charge only or MTP and let ALL (watch the install screen) the drivers install, reboot your PC, let your PC complete boot and then run HOB.

One last thing READ THE OP AND FAQ'S to avoid stupid questions. just saying

SamuriHL... are you still getting a RAZR HD Dev phone? I really need a phone and want to make sure I buy something that will be supported well in the community.

My phone is currently on 247 and I am unsuccessfully trying to install 246. When I select "INSTALL 246" from HoB, the script hangs at "* daemon started successfully *". After reading the FAQ and this entire thread, it looks like ADB can't see my phone and a factory reset may be necessary. However, I would like to avoid losing data if at all possible. Here are the things I have tried:

- Initially tried installing 246 with HoB 8.1, the same version I used to install 247 on the same computer (Windows 7 desktop).
- Tried installing 246 using 2 additional computers (WIndows 7 laptops), same results
- Uninstalled Motorola drivers and HoB 8.1, installed drivers and HoB 8.4. Same results.
- Booted into AP Fastboot and allowed computer to install drivers, rebooted phone and computer. Same results.
- Phone is on MTP mode and USB Debugging is enabled.
- Unchecked USB Debugging, re-enabled it. Same results.
- Tried several different cables, including the one that worked to install 247 (not factory cable).
- Tried several different USB ports on several different computers.

I would be thrilled if there were a way to get to 246 without losing data, but if a FDR is my only option I understand. Thank you for all of the great support this community provides, especially Samuri!

Samuri, just wanted to say thank you, much appreciated. Out of curiosity though did anyone have battery issues after going to 246 with HOB? I have the Moto extended (BW8X) and came from 232. My battery life just dropped significantly, almost the same as the standard. Going to try to recalibrate later today to see if it helps.

Give it a few days and if you are still having issues you might have to do a factory data reset. It always takes a few days for the battery usage to adjust.
