Security counter was there from the first ICS leak. So, if you're on .232 or below, you can install a recovery that will not display the counter - i.e. the GB recovery via FXZ to .905 / .902. However, it will not reset it, as Sam said. But it will boot.

Only if you are on .235+ will you not be able to do that to avoid detection.

totally understand that, was referring to leaks 235 and above; attempting to boot with any recovery other than the one for that specific version would fail.

That wasn't for you, per se, but for anyone reading this thread - sometimes people gloss over the previous posts and only see the main post and get confused. Then, there are posts made by other helpers that just saw completely the wrong thing.....

rsd lite is blowing through the process and acting like it's already done installing. i'm going to double check my drivers, but they were updated no more than 2 weeks ago so i don't think it's that. not a newbie by any means, and i've already used your utility for the .242 leak. then when i try to manually install, i get an error message as well. kinda confused, this should be easy!

You won't like what I have to say. It's not detecting your phone. Make sure it's in AP Fastboot and that Windows has detected it.

weird. it pushed the update.zip to my sd card right before that, but i guess that's not in fastboot at that point...i had a feeling, since it was just blowing through it. it worked less than a week ago when i flashed .242. goofy :/

Right, the driver for AP Fastboot mode is actually different than the one when it's booted up normally. Boot it into AP Fastboot and then plug it in and see if windows detects it.

Ok, there's another thing you can do. This is somewhat complicated so you're going to have to SERIOUSLY pay attention. It's a failsafe I built in.

o) Boot to AP Fastboot, connect to the phone
o) Start option 3, but, do NOT say yes to flash. LEAVE it at that specific point in the script.
o) Go into the RSD folder and load rsd manually
o) Open the 905_FXZ folder in RSD, and select the HouseOfBionic_xxx.xml file (whatever it is you selected for an install/reinstall option)
o) Now see if you can flash it manually
o) If yes, when it's finished, close RSD when it errors, then go back to the HouseOfBionic script and select N to NOT flash. It'll clean up.
o) Continue on to option 4.

not sure whether it was reinstalling the moto drivers or your failsafe, but the update appears to be flashing like a champ now. you are amazing, sir!

Love the ICS, I have noticed battery drains much faster then when running GB. Is there anything to do to extend battery life? Turn off 4g searching?

Thanks!
