Does anyone know if the OTA came with a root checker?

I'm presuming yes, since my factory recovery says 'qe 1/1' under the menu with the options for the utility.

lol, I just remembered that means is currently rooted, although any of my apps that require root beg to differ.

Yeah a few people are reporting false positives with the OTA root check. There are root check apps in the market.

With 246 being the OTA build...does this mean we'll be OTA when verizon decides to release this, and this would open us up to the possibility (supposedly verified by Moto) that JB is comming to the Bionic, and we'd get the update!?

Then don't ask ridiculously stupid questions.....That are both answered in the faq and common sense.

Ok I'm stuck. I've tried search/reading/trying many thing and my driod is stuck going to fast boot.

I was on 905 and did a factory reset. I then tried to install ICS 246 with house of bionic. Everything seemed to go ok until I tried to go into recovery to do the actual update to 246. When I selected "Recovery" from the boot menu, the droid image didn't appear and went into fastboot and is also now stuck at:

Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.61

Battery OK
OK To Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG Version (CG: system)
Invalid CG OTV (OC: system)

I've tried going back to 905 with house of bioic and separately with RSD, but they fail. (Re)installing ICS with house of bionic still won't go into recovery and also tried with a NORSD file. Nothing changes it, always going back to fastboot. It seem that my bionic has enough of 246 on it and it won't go back to 905, but I cannot get past fastboot now.

Was hoping I could find a sbf/frx of a fresh 246 but only finding pre-ICS things that fail to flash.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe try the option on the main menu of HoB that says "Repair AP Fastboot error"?

Nobody bothers to read anymore. :( Perhaps the FAQ entry:

Q: I tried to install and got a flash error. Now what?

might possibly contain something of value here.

Dear SamuriHL,
You've saved my... posterior. I had to hack some of the files in place due to other issues (long story), but they worked beautifully!

I've tried the repair AP fastboot option with and without the NORSD option and then reinstall/install 246 option afterwards and any combination of them. It all appears to go ok without any errors displayed, it appears to reboot and go back to fastboot as expected while flashing, but cannot get to the recovery menu. I then turn off and turn back on with volume up+down, select the recovery option and it goes to the fastboot error screen instead of to the driod image/recovery screen.

I've read through the FAQ, all suggestions there either didn't change anything (246 install/reinstall/fastboot error fix) or resulted in errors during execution (flashing old versions).

Nobody bothers to read anymore. :( Perhaps the FAQ entry:

Q: I tried to install and got a flash error. Now what?

might possibly contain something of value here.

If it's really stuck in AP fastboot I doubt very highly that there are no errors while flashing. Post the swdl.txt file.

I flashed 246 with hob this am and everything went perfectly. Thx Sam.
So I went home to do the wife's bionic and have nothing but problems. Everything went fine until apfastboot mode comes up and hob says one file copied, rsd comes on my laptop for a second, goes off and hob thinks it finished. When I reboot the phone nothing changed, it booted fine. Then I tried the repair apfastboot and hob said no errors found. But then rebooting the phone goes straight into apfastboot with a boot error. No longer will it boot. What did I f. u.? She's gonna kill me....
