Sam,

Just wanted to let you know that I did run this with SS 3.05 removed, but I'd be willing to try again with it installed and running if you're willing to help me unbrick if I run into trouble. In theory it should work either way because SS saves the different installs and you're not touching the data through Hob.

It'll have to wait until Monday to test because I am away this weekend.

Santa

No need. I'm sure we'll eventually get another volunteer. ;)

Trying on my Mac, used Crossover to install all .exe components but when I run HouseOfBionic.sh I get the following:

Linux/Mac House of Bionic Version: 1.4

Choose version:

/Users/joey/Desktop/LinuxMac_HouseOfBionic_(1.4)/HouseOfBionic.sh: line 211: [: Google: binary operator expected
1) *_FXZ
2) Show processor
3) Root
4) Exit
#?

I followed the instructions in the README file as such:

Requirements:
o) Extract to a LinuxMac_HouseOfBionic directory - done to a desktop folder
o) 64 bit Linux systems may need to run: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs N/A
o) Make sure HouseOfBionic.sh is executable Not sure how to "make sure"
o) unzip is required done for .246 file but are there others?
o) Mac users must have openssl installed done
o) You MUST create a 905_FXZ directory and add the FXZ files to it. They are not included in this archive. Is this a sub-directory of the HOB directory?

Usage:
o) Connect the Bionic to USB done
o) Set USB Debugging to enabled done
o) Set to charge only or MTP mode done
o) Run the HouseOfBionic.sh done

Where are my likely screw ups?

I don't own a mac but I've had a couple people test it and it does work. You do have to have the 905_FXZ and 246 folders extracted from the exe installers in the root of the HoB directory though. If they aren't there it won't work. The script does appear to be running so it's executable but you're definitely missing the fxz and 246 directories. If I get time I'll see if I can make things easier for my linux/mac friends.

Lmao I almost punched my computer, hob couldn't find my phone, then I remembered I needed moto drivers, that's what I get for my normal PC crashing. At least it downloaded successfully!

I'm on 905 and just want to install from SD without using HOB. Which link in the OP contains the 246 update? Thanks!

I apologize for ****ing this one up and having to post here. I was on 232 or something below the cutoff. I was trying to install .905 so I could OTA update. I boot my phone and it's just black now, here are the contents of the SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic\rsd\SWDL.txt file (doesn't look right...lol)

HoB is getting to be a dangerous thing for me! I went back last night from 247 to 246 with no issues and as I went through the process that darn ROOT thing was staring at me from the menu again. Oh, should I or shouldn't I as I had not taken the plunge... Finally I could not resist the urge and did it, just as simple as anything else with the HoB..

Sigh, I am rooted now.... What to do with it?? I poked around last night and found Superuser and a util to reboot my phone rather than having to power cycle, cool but not enough to feed my need yet! So I just installed SS 3.05 and am backing up right now. Danger! Danger! Where are those damn Roms at now?!?!?!

Once I start I find it hard to stop myself. Watch out, HoB can make your phone an addictive thing!

Disclaimer: This is all tounge in cheek of course... I really did do all the above but in no way hold HoB responsible for my actions. I just need more to play with and this sounds like fun. I have an old OG droid I can get going quick if worse comes to worse. Now off to find out how to install Roms in Safestrap... I am one of those who prefers to RTFM as much as possible.

This log does not jive with what you say about "installing 905". You need to use the 905 FXZ FULL option to revert to 905 which is not what you did here. You WILL lose data doing so. That's the price of entry to get back to 905 from 232.

If you have the 235 update you can do it. I'm certainly not rehosting it. Just do the INSTALL 235 option and it'll downgrade you. Sounds like a big pain in the arse though. The riskier (and I mean SERIOUSLY) way to do it is to restore your 235 nandroid on top of 246, but, it's not a good idea at all. Or use TiBu to restore what you need from your CWR backup.

OK cool this will just be a project I can check off my list of accomplishments . Hey can anyone on here post a .235 update if possible???

That's entirely possible, I did that at like 2 in the morning.

I have since gotten back to ICS...but I'm getting constant errors like "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped."

Thanks for the reply.

EDIT: Now I'm hung up with "Unfortunately, Setup has stopped."

You very likely corrupted your data. Sadly, you're now looking at a factory reset.

My family ran a family oil burner service company for many years. I don't miss that at all. I'm so glad I got my new boiler installed earlier this year. It's SO nice.

Okay I did a factory reset. When I boot it goes to the AP screen, and says flash failure. When I start in recovery mode the Android man does not look very happy lying on his back with his chest open and an exclamation point coming out of him...

Um, what kind of factory reset did you do? Cause it doesn't flash anything. A factory reset by definition can't cause an AP Fastboot error. So, please detail the exact steps you took to get into this situation.

Um, what kind of factory reset did you do? Cause it doesn't flash anything. A factory reset by definition can't cause an AP Fastboot error. So, please detail the exact steps you took to get into this situation.

The blue screen at the beginning where you have a couple options like "clear cache" and that sort of thing, I cleared date. Then it rebooted and it went to that.

Ended up using the HoB to do something...I don't know what but now I'm running "6.7.246.XT875" so... Good?
