I backed up some information using clockworkmod in bootstrap. But if there isnt an easy way to do it, then I wont worry about it

If you have the 235 update you can do it. I'm certainly not rehosting it. Just do the INSTALL 235 option and it'll downgrade you. Sounds like a big pain in the arse though. The riskier (and I mean SERIOUSLY) way to do it is to restore your 235 nandroid on top of 246, but, it's not a good idea at all. Or use TiBu to restore what you need from your CWR backup.

Yessir!! Update from 232-246 complete, thx again Sam!!

One question...I just happened to notice, upon reboot, when the Moto (M) logo pops up, it no longer says dual core!? Any reason for this change...seem to run fine other wise.

Kinda weird. Wasn't one of the cores hobbled until ICS? And NOW it's removed?

But, yeah, my phone doesn't mind...

It's just a logo guys. :) It doesn't mean $#!7. It got removed in 235. No clue why. But it affects nothing. You see it for a couple seconds when rebooting. Who does that? :D

Longtime lurker (both here and at the other forum), first time poster. I wanted to stay on 905 until the OTA started to roll out, just to be absolutely sure I wouldn't get stuck on a non-official build. Tonight I finally took the plunge when I saw I wasn't in one of the early waves. The whole process went without a hitch and I'm happily running 246 with no issues; it really is like getting a brand new phone. I'm happy as can be and I really appreciate all your hard work on this. Thank you Sam!

OK, so what is the big frigging deal with everyone wanting to get onto .246? If you're on .247, and a new update drops (tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year, even then you can always revert from .247 to .246 using HoB because it is the same as the OTA.

IOW, if you can revert from .247 to .246 now, you can revert from .247 to .246 tomorrow, or in a week, or in a month, or even next year.

So, again, wtf is everyone running like chickens with their heads cut off trying to revert to .246? And why is there a recommendation (here, and other places) to revert to .246?

(Mind you, this is not aimed at people who are on any other build except .247. Obviously, if you are on anything before .246 even I urge you to ice your BIONIC pronto!)

Because I told them to. I'm not support dead non-ota builds. And if their phone breaks they need to be ota to return it. Etc etc.

Thanks. Unfortunately, installing the drivers is beyond my technical capabilities without an installer program.

Trying on my Mac, used Crossover to install all .exe components but when I run HouseOfBionic.sh I get the following:

Linux/Mac House of Bionic Version: 1.4

Choose version:

/Users/joey/Desktop/LinuxMac_HouseOfBionic_(1.4)/HouseOfBionic.sh: line 211: [: Google: binary operator expected
1) *_FXZ
2) Show processor
3) Root
4) Exit
#?

I followed the instructions in the README file as such:

Requirements:
o) Extract to a LinuxMac_HouseOfBionic directory - done to a desktop folder
o) 64 bit Linux systems may need to run: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs N/A
o) Make sure HouseOfBionic.sh is executable Not sure how to "make sure"
o) unzip is required done for .246 file but are there others?
o) Mac users must have openssl installed done
o) You MUST create a 905_FXZ directory and add the FXZ files to it. They are not included in this archive. Is this a sub-directory of the HOB directory?

Usage:
o) Connect the Bionic to USB done
o) Set USB Debugging to enabled done
o) Set to charge only or MTP mode done
o) Run the HouseOfBionic.sh done

Where are my likely screw ups?

probably your screw up right there. i dont run mac or linux, but as far as i know the instructions are to extract update files from exe, not install exe.

do some hw and google "make sh executable mac", im sure its pretty straighforward. and yes, 905_FXZ is a sub directory within HOB (as are any updates you need support for).

FALSE!! You've supported every ICS leak with House of Bionic, and ALL of those were off the OTA path with the exception of 246 as of about 36 hours ago. What do I win??!!! What do I win??!!

On the other hand, thank you for all the work you've put into the entire HoB endeavor. I know you've resurrected more phones than imaginable with this.

It should be noted that SS3.x is different. I'll eventually update the OP and FAQ about it once I learn more, but, it should only be necessary to shut down on the unsafe partition and running the HoB. The reason for this is they no longer use the Preinstall partition and instead push stuff to the internal sdcard. That changes the game. The ONLY problems I've seen with SS have been people that forgot to shut down on the unsafe side and tried to use the HoB. But again, I don't like leaving $#!7 to chance.

Sam,

Just wanted to let you know that I did run this with SS 3.05 removed, but I'd be willing to try again with it installed and running if you're willing to help me unbrick if I run into trouble. In theory it should work either way because SS saves the different installs and you're not touching the data through Hob.

It'll have to wait until Monday to test because I am away this weekend.

Lmao. Yes we play with leaks between ota updates. But once an ota is released there's zero benefit to staying on leaks. If someone can tell me why it's so great to stay on 247 vs 246 other than sheer laziness of not wanting to take the 30 minutes to downgrade then great. But given that the builds are identical except for the version number well glwt. All future leaks won't install on 247. There will be no fxz for 247. I won't support 247. There's no benefit to keeping it other than like I said not having to bother downgrading. That's lame. :)
