Just did a complete wipe. No change. Still a problem, now it won't even restore contacts, etc from verizon.

had the same issue with my verizon app. you need to install the log in client. no re flash is needed just the apk.

I have a couple new pieces of functionality I may add to the HoB that might be useful. I guess I'll do an update over the weekend at some point.

Any hints of the features?

for those on 232, are you FXZing to 905 (I believe that loses data) using SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic_FXZ_(5.9.905).exe (MD5: 234ddbbd00e49f500ccd89441d6c1d57) then OTA

or

going from 232 to 246 using SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic_(246).exe (MD5: 0970413433b8b2a626952633a95019f5)??

Well, I fxz'd to 905 and tried OTA, except it said my device was up to date and no update was needed. Don't be an idiot like me... I would just go to 246 if you have any question and don't want to have to refigure all of your settings.

I'm having a little trouble understanding. I've read the FAQ and read through forum posts, but I can't get a clear answer.
I am currently on .232. I want to be on the cleanest path. Do I HOB/FXZ back to 905 and then take the update? And if so, why do you say to not attempt to keep data? If I understood correctly, your scripts keep data through FXZs?

OR do I HOB to 246 directly, and would that upgrade the same way as someone who's never messed with his phone and taken the update?

What's the advantage of one vs the other?

Q: Do I need to FXZ before using an INSTALL XYZ option?
A: Oh hell no. Just follow all the steps on the INSTALL menu and you'll be good to go.

Q: If I updated to the 232 ICS build, how do I get back on the OTA path?
A: 1 of 2 ways. Use the HoB to update to the OTA build when it's released OR FXZ to 905 (do NOT attempt to keep data) and take the OTA

Sam, I haven't used HoB, but I have followed a couple threads on it. Just wanted to say your work and support is greatly appreciated.

FWIW, I intend to jump from .232 to .246 via HoB this evening

I'm not trying to be a winkie here... I did read through the FAQ and understood it. I was just wondering what the advantage of going one way over the other is, and I had thought previously (and other people have reported) that FXZing does can data using HOB.

Grrrr. I have read the HoB and Faq several times. i followed the script and when try to apply the update the Install/sdcard ... finds, opens and verifies the the update package. When it starts Installing update... I get the followig:

assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop". "ro.build.fingerprint") == verizon tragr_vzw/cdma_targa:2.3.4/5.5.1_84_DBN-74/12:user/release-keys" II file_getprop("systembuild.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == motorola/XT875_verizon/cmda_targa:4.0.4/6.7.3-223_DBN_M4-23/29:user / release-keys"
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

This is greek to me. The MD5 on the SDcar-ex matched.

I am at this error now after running HoB three time. what net Sensai?

Just wanted to say thanks to Sam. I've used HoB several times in the past, including today to move from .232 to .246. Couldn't have gone any smoother. Just read the directions. This utility is a blessing!

Create a NORSD file in your HoB directory (See FAQ) and do it again from the flash step. Manually put your phone in AP Fastboot and say N to the transfer, check, and reboot steps. Y to flash and continue.

Samuri - why are you even using RSD if there is a way around it? It seems that it happens to cause much of the problems that I see reported. Is there a safety benefit or was that just the way you knew how to code it when you started?

RSD is safer. I went to great lengths to get it to work (thanks to sarge). Easier to write the xml scripts, too. I put the NORSD switch in as the safety valve for people who can't get RSD to work.
