is there any way to just get the .246 update zip file? I already fxzed back to 905, I can apply the update from stock recovery there easily. Just asking, if not that is fine I can wait from VZW to push the OTA if necessary.

Get the 246 support installer and install it. It has the 246 update zip, the boot.img, and recovery.img files. You can ignore the other 2.

For whatever reason the HOB is not transferring the 246 file to my phone. It recognizes the phone takes a long time then says transfer complete but when I do check it fails. I used both the install 246 first then I used the reinstall 246 nothing works. If I manually transfer the file then use the HOB would that be successful? Yes I did read and reread the FAQ.

You don't have the file(s) in the right directory, what I would do is move the installer files onto your desktop, and run them there first the HoB installer then the update installer, and they should put the files onto a folder on your desktop. If you do this do NOT change the directory it wants to install to.

Then run HoB from the desktop directory and you should be good to go, unless you messed up somewhere, but the instructions SamuriHL posted in his FAQ are pretty much as simple as they can get.

The instructions are clear as day I definitely agree. for some reason it still has the error message: File Not Found
ERROR: No FXZ found. Please install the FXZ installer. I will try a different laptop and see what happens

Nothing should happen to the rom slots. None of the two I have set up have been affected

Sam - I felt a like a stalker following you from droidforum to here. I just utilized HOB for the second time this month, upgraded from 232 to 246 seamlessly. I've been following all of the posts while I awaited news on the official ics ota - you have the patience of a saint dealing with all of the questions, I seriously would have gone postal myself a long time ago! Thanks again to you and the other devs you work with. I'm a nOOb and if I can do this, anyone can. There's perfection in simplicity (assuming, of course, you take the time to read and following instructions.)

Thanks. It's clear to me that people don't like bothering to read. But those that do, have the least amount of problems. Funny how that works. :)
