Hey is there bacon on this page????

Not you too! And a huge thanks to the admin team fixing my auto correct issue. It changed my email address and I didn't catch it in time, effectively blocking me from my user name I've had on every forum. Thanks!

Hey is there bacon on this page????

I read through all the code for HoB... no sign of bacon!! Would probably screw up phone if it was in there. Or maybe the grease would lube it up and make it run faster.

I just want OTA for the FXZ so I won't need to worry about modding.

Ok Samuri, Finally got home and time to try and fix my recovery issue.

I poked around your script and got the command to just flash the recover image and it appears to have worked. like so
D:\SamuriHL_HOB>utils\moto-fastboot.exe flash recovery 247\recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (9216 KB)... OKAY [ 0.885s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 1.603s]
Yes I was in fastboot mode as well.

But I am still getting the error in recovery of
E:failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)
System recovery at the top of the screen states
Android system recovery <3e> if that helps anything.
Not sure at this point. system works fine just can't flash a darn thing. sigh, what did I break now?
yea I did this on windows side of the house.
Thanks for the help

Son of a. I'll have to give this some thought. You may not like my answer. Please back up both internal and external sdcards FULLY.

Already on it. factory reset incoming by the sounds of it eh!
also just to note I was working on getting a swap partition going, was about to install the init.d support scripts and found this issue.
I do not believe I messed up the /sdcard/ as it works just hunky dory. I did all the partition creation on the external SDcard in my netbook.
Only commands issued were the likes of fdisk -l for listings of the partitions and mounting just the swap partition. I did not touch any other partition so this should not be a result of that work.
I do have a mirror of my sdcard-ext as a class 4 device so not worried about that. and data is backup don't care about installing apps again.

Thanks

I'd start by nuking the sdcard-ext partition and reformatting it. Stick 247 back on it and see if recovery sees it.

I will swap out the class 4 for the class 10 if that cures it then I know it's the partitioning.

Yup, that was it. stupid partitioning. gonna have to look at the class4 and see how it's setup vrs what I did to the class 10. Thanks and glad it was not a bad issue!

Well I just figured out why the ota hasn't gone out yet. And I'll be able to tell you exactly before it does go out.
I can absolutely garentee that the ota ics will never see the light of day as long as I stay on 905.
You see I've been considering doing the upgrad using HOB but its a company phone. Also there was talk that it was almost here. That was 2 months ago. Turns out its always a day away. I feel like Annie :)

So anyway I could end this wait tomorrow if I just upgrade to ICS. I have not had the time to look into doing the hob but if there was monetary compensationnnn...............
Let the bidding commence!

Hello Samuri!!
Had to move over here so I could stay up to date. Understand your frustration with what happened on the other site..and I understand the frustration with folks that just don't read first..which is why I read it TWICE!!
Thanks for your contribution to the community. I had a Bionic that never had issues and 14 hr battery life on extended battery, BUT ICS is SO much better!! 18 hrs+ and so much faster!

JPB-Sam's suggestion to do a dry run is a good one-it will be exactly like the real thing, except for time. Read and re-read the instructions, move your pics, music and videos off your SD card and go for it. ICS is so much better than GB, even if you do have a good phone. You will be amazed!!

Wouldn't it be nice to slap the person who inadvertently started the bacon distraction upside their medulla oblongata?
