Re-started HoB 10.1 after manually putting in AP fastboot. RSD status says "please power this phone manually" status says "in process"
Patiently waiting going on 45 minutes...
Will report back

You've got something wrong going on there. I would honestly redownload the FXZ and set it up again cause that's DEFINITELY not normal.

Haven't touched the ota yet so bear with me please... Running liquid using safestrap. Can I simply reboot into stock slot which is untouched unmodified, uninstall safe strap, and run hob 10.1 utility menu, root to set me up with voodoo, proper su binaries, hob protection? Then take the ota and restore root with voodoo or hob restore? Or am I over simplifying?

Got it. OR would it make more sense to simply install Koush's su, give it root rights, update its binary, protect with voodoo, take the OTA and restore through voodoo?

That's fine too.

I don't think anything is "safe" right now given that it doesn't seem to be working. Something is very wrong. It should not be sitting there for "45 minutes" doing nothing....

Hello everyone! Happily rooted with Jelly Bean, AGAIN, Thank you Sam and
Question for everyone. Does anyone notice that JellyBean is a memory hog? Seems like the longer the phone is on, all my memory is ate up and starts to slow down noticeably. I also notice that text messages seem to take a while to send.
Anyone else?

Yes, my ram usage is more than ICS but it seems to run smoother and quicker, go figure

Same for me. I rolled back & disabled all of the bloatware & removed unused apps & I'm humming along nicely now.

Thank you for the help! Spent a couple days reading, installed Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper. Followed SamuriHL's simple instructions and took the upgrade yesterday. Worked great and retained everything.

Ok so I've got a feeling this is a dumb question, but...
If I use the HOB keep data option to flash 98.72.22, will I still be able to restore root through Voodoo, or can root only be protected if you uprgade OTA? I ask for 2 reasons:
- I'd rather use the HOB than do the OTA update because that process takes friggin forever.
- When I was testing the cdt.bin swap to downgrade from 98.72.22 to .246, I used the HOB keep data option to flash the JB build. I had root protected with Voodoo before flashing, but when JB finished installing, Voodoo did not give me the option to restore root. Not sure if the cdt.bin swap would've had anything to do with that (I'm learning this stuff as I go). I'm not terribly worried about it, since I plan on trying Dan's linux exploit anyway, but I'd like to keep a backup of SU that I can restore as a fail safe if that process goes bad.
