if i could root JB i'd use the bounty to buy a new phone lmao but sincerely i wish djrbliss and oneclickroot all the best luck in the world. life just isn't the same without root D:

I agree, I'm still sticking on ICS, the CDT sounded promising but if a root exploit is coming I can wait. I've found that getting under the hood is dirty business and I've needed to fxz more often then I'd like. I hope it's possible but I could never work the magic that the people I admire can. I can't imagine the time and frustration that these people put into it. I am amazed by their mad skills. Hoping for a bright and rooted future for the rest of my beloved Bionics life.

worse than all the fxzing i've had to do recently is the fact that my bionic now dies constantly and reboots in the middle of doing nothing. think it might be a battery issue as the charge mode sometimes jumps from 5 to 100 percent but the battery stats can only be wiped with root anyway so...idk this might be a paperweight soon.

I have been putting up with that for months now on 246, 247, and now JB.  Only thing i found that helps is turning my wifi off.

seems to me there is a small flex in the upper right hand corner of the battery where the volume rockers are. If i squeeze the phone just slightly the whole thing dies.

My boss bought a bionic a few days after it dropped. A couple months ago, he had experienced random and frequent reboots. I asked about the battery. He indicated it was a non - OEM extended. I told him to put the stock one in, if he had it. He did that evening, and the reboots stopped. His extended was only a few months old

Error code (406) coming for play store when trying to update or add apps. Rooted on JB 22. Cleared data and cache. WiFi/4g both results the same

Ok?  This isn't the fix your play store thread.  :)  No offense but that's not a House of Bionic related problem.  I would open a thread in the Bionic General or Bionic Help forum and see if anyone has solved that.  I know others have seen that error.

No offense taken, I certainly wasn't trying to hijack this thread. I just seem to read here first since there is so much good stuff. (Like the post just before mine about batteries:))

Yea, I know.  I'm trying to reign this thread back in for HoB related stuff because right now there's a lot going on related to the HoB and I need people to focus.  The battery stuff can also go away.  :)

Good news, everyone.  You can relax.  Well, if you know how to setup linux, samba, and follow instructions.  :D  Dan will be releasing a root exploit for 22 later tonight.  I know for a fact that it works.  ;)

NOTE: It will NOT be possible to incorporate this new root method into the House of Bionic.  This is very complicated and will in fact require you to set up a linux samba share to make it work.  But, it works.  :)

P.S. I highly recommend people stop using chaindd Superuser.  There are 2 better solutions out there and no one that I've seen that used either of them lost root.  SuperSU is what I use currently, but, I'm considering switching to Koush's Superuser.  That one is fully open source and worked fine for people who protected su, updated to JB, and restored su.  Chaindd's had lots of issues with people losing root after the JB update.  Just something to consider.  I MAY push out an update to the HoB to switch it to Koush's Superuser and add an option to restore the HoB protected su.

Good advice! I have been using SuperSU per you advice as well!

Thanks for all the hard work you put in with DJRBliss on the root as well!

Koush's is open source but i have read numerous complaints for lack of updating the su binary. So until those complaints start to dwindle down i think i will stay with chaindd's. On another note i have had a few apps not play well with SuperSu on my N7 so until i see some improvements there i will not be going that route either.

So, the version of Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper that I put into the HoB in 9.9 and 10.0 seems to be corrupt and doesn't work right.  I'm fixing it in 10.1, but, if you used the HoB and it installed it, uninstall it and reinstall from the play store.  HoB 10.1 switches to Koush's superuser so if that's not your thing, you can either replace superuser.apk and su in the HoB\root directory or root with another method.  Obviously this only applies to ICS users.  I'm also building a HoB backup and restore SU function that works on the same principle as Voodoo as a protection against failure and/or forgetfulness.  :)  When you root with the HoB in ICS, it'll automagically create the HoB root backup.

Have you ever had a problem with your phone that you can definitively trace to having a version of the su binary that was slightly out of date? Seriously?

On a note, isn't Koush's the one baked into CM?

Yes, CM has switched to Koush's as it's open source.  I just put it on my phone as well.
