Has anyone tested this new downgrade method to see if the keep data option in HOB will definitely cause a boot loop when downgrading? I'll test it out if needed. Bout time I did something to earn my keep around here.

The reason it's 99 bucks is exactly for that....people trying to do false warranty claims.  Sorry, but, that's reality.

well tbh the loss of my unlimited data from upgrading means i'll buy my next phone on ebay or w/e anyway. If I can get a droid dna for 250 why pay 100 for a bionic

also as you know i already got back to JB without root but twinkyz1979 pm'd me

"I was 1 of the first to have BS mess up my JB. Took phone back to VZW said this is what happened after i took the update and got a new reman bionic the next day."

so i was pretty hopeful that might work.

Downloaded all the latest and greatest HOB files, and made backups of my stock and custom ROM slots, which are safely on my external HDD.  Will give this a shot tomorrow evening.

I have a spare .246 non rooted bionic with bad ESN that i did an FDR and will put up for any testing that may be helpful for any new rounds of testing that may come up.

Just realized with no Sim card, how in da hell do i get past the welcome screen for ics? I tried the 4 corner tap from GB but no go...

Edit: i see a 4 corner tap YouTube video that does like 6 trips around the corners but doesn't work for me

ok after looking for whatever reason i have lost /vendor/app on both safe and non-safe sides of SS.  Does SS not backup /vendor? I never flashed anything on my non-safe side only on my safe side but now both are gone and even flashing my backup to slot 1 still never returned them.  Something with this is not sitting well with me right now. I am thinking something in SS doesn't like to play well with JB either.

Could i fastboot webtop back to my phone by itself without messing anything up? Webtop is where the vendor apps are stored by the way.

Well, I had 22 up and running for a bit, and not sure how, but I bricked it.  Can't seem FXZ back to either 246 nor 22.  The 246 FXZ gives the familiar CTD.bin error, while the 22 FXZ gives a "oem fb_mode_set" error.  I'm stuck.

Started with 5.6.  Tried 6.0, now 5.7 from your link.  All yielded slightly different results, but I'm omitting those others, as they are not by your directions.  FYI, I'm also running the 2.3.9 drivers.

I've also updated to HoB 10.0 and re-downloaded the 22 FXZ file from a couple of sources, just to check.  No dice.

You'll probably be better off using the hob itself as my rsd scripts are modified and will avoid the issue you're seeing. Alternatively you'll have to very carefully edit the fxz xml to remove the oem fb_ commands. There are 2...one to set and one to clear. Also 6.15 is the latest rsd but I've not tried it yet. 6.14 was a goddamn disaster for the hob.

If neither suggestion works, switch the hob to fastboot flash mode and use that.

I would LOVE to use the HoB scripts, but since I'm bricked, it won't let me add the 22 FXZ files, as it's looking for the device in ADB mode, even with 0 in the fastboot.ini file. No difference whether I toggle flash type.  Prompt changes, but still no 22 addition regardless of mode.

It shouldn't be. At all. I don't know what it'd be trying to do on startup with adb. You can extract the fxz files manually but they have to be in the root of the 22_fxz directory, not in a sub folder. But it shouldn't be trying to do any abd stuff when you load.

I agree, but it is looking for ADB before completing 22 FXZ addition.
