Very interesting!!  I'm damn glad I stopped by the HOB before upgrading.  Looks like i'll be holding on to ICS for a while!

One I get someone to test the HoB 9.9 properly we should have a reliable method for getting people to JB with root in tact.  BUT, if you screw up on JB you'll lose root permanently.

You are more than welcome to try if you like.  However I won't be supporting you when you do for a fact brick your phone.  I'm not in the mood to deal with people that disbelieve what I say.

I apologize,  I believe you and won't try.   Just really pissed that I lost root.  I have a ton of apps that I bought that use root.

You don't think I'm a little more than irritated myself?  I develop the House of Bionic.  I kinda need a rooted phone to do it properly.  But, sadly, that is the position we both find ourselves in....not rooted.  And there's not a damn thing we can do about it except wait.

Glad you were able to recover.  Yea, the root thing sucks.  Believe me, I share the pain.

Out of curiosity what Superuser version are you using in HoB for root? I mean who is it by and what version?

OK.  I tested 9.9

I did the FXZ - Keeping data

then performed HoB Root.

Result:

Voodoo is installed, but there is no SU, and... According to Root Checker, I don't have root either.

Root process text follows:

SamuriHL's House of Bionic 9.9

FLASH MODE: RSD

Um. If you did an FXZ Keep Data successfully, then the errors in the root script are impossible.

If you see something incorrect in this setup, please let me know.  I'm happy to do it again.

Windows installation, not Linux.

I was not presented with a FXZ 246 option.  I did choose the 905.

I don't mean to keep bothering you with silly little questions but does HoB look for and update the Superuser.apk and su binary automatically or is it something we would have to do on our own peridocially?
