Ok, after reading a myrid of posts on this thread, the General forum and of course our muchly beloved Moot thread, I find the call of JB becoming iresistable so before I jump, I would like to ask the users of this fine site to check my logic (at the risk of incurring Samuri wrath or being exiled to one of the corners), these are the steps I'm contemplating to do this insane thing:
1. Backup internal and external SD cards to laptop
2. Boot into SS recovery and delete all slots
3. Boot into stock and uninstall SS
4. Use HoB to FXZ just to be sure all is clean
5. Use HoB to reroot gleaming new Bionic 246
6. Update Superuser app
7. Update Superuser binary
8. Dowload VoodooOTA and use it to install trojan protection for root
9. Copy previously downloaded JB update to root of SD card
10.Boot into stock recovery with shaking fingers
11. Apply update while guzzling either Merlo or possibly Jack D
12. Reboot and use VoodooOTA to reinstall previously trojaned root
13. Do happy dance since I now have rooted JB
Is the thinking right, should I pull the JB plug or have I just wasted everyones time?
That is what I did. Every thing worked fine. Still have root. My Bionic is now what it should have been when it was first released
