You can try just booting your phone into AP Fastboot manually. It'll find it then. Basically power off the phone, then hold volume down and press power. It'll boot into AP Fastboot and you can try again.
Got it. Running RSD now. Going to do a full FXZ then reroot and protect.

I remember the shreiking.....and all the morons thinking the leak and the OTA could have the same version # and 247, and yeah, I remember you flipping for a bit, but keeeeeeeericet you were just overwhelmed. All those damn leaks in a row and back to 246 from 247, n00bz that had no business being there wanting to jump in the house. NO FXZ that while time. It was a freakin' amazing summer. I'm glad I've been on the whole HoB ride from the very beginning. It's been a very cool trip.

Just a tad, yea. I was getting seriously annoyed. I must have helped literally over a thousand people between September and November.

Don't forget to update the binaries before you protect root. I think a lot of the problems people are having getting root back is they are protecting an old binary.

Can I ask a noob question? What is the benefit of doing a FXZ before you root?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
There's no benefit before you root, but it can help before you flash the update if you get errors. FXZ cleans out any hacks or mods you might have made that can cause the update assert to fail. It's not strictly necessary but if you get assert fails it's a good troubleshooting step. Just remember to re-root after, update su binaries and protect.

Well you certainly can't do it after. LOL People FXZ to clean up their phone so that the update won't fail. People who have bootstrap, safestrap, frozen/deleted apps, etc. But it also removes root so you need to re-root after you FXZ.

If you do it AFTER you root you'll lose root, it rewrites/wipes system

They wanted a fish in general. You wanted to teach them fishing, an assload of people mastered basic phone hacking theory because of that time period.

When I started the HoB, it was my intention to help the community learn as I learned. I'm not sure I fully succeeded in that goal, but, one thing I did manage to accomplish is making playing with the Bionic much safer. How often to you hear about someone bricking their phone? And when they do, how many times can I recover it AND keep their data in the process>? So, I hope the contributions I've made have helped make our community unique...with more advanced users overall.

Next WTF moment. RSD says this. My phone is on and connected. Does it want me to turn it off and on? This sounds like it should be off.

Ignore what RSD says and close it. What you told me in the moot thread told me you already did the radio shit. So tell RSD to piss off and you're done FXZ'ing. Now you need to root. Then follow my directions for updating Superuser and SU. Finally, protect root. Then you can do the update.
