Installed SuperSU Pro, updated binaries and checked off OTA Survival box
Flashed JB via stock recovery and successfully retained Root!
Reinstalled my usual apps+data via TiBu and my Nova launcher is running smooth as butter again.

GLWT. Had I kept SuperSU Pro installed and used that to protect root we'd not be having this conversation. sigh.

So I'm on a ROM ICS build. I'm assuming I won't be able to keep that ROM on slot one and restore stock backup in stock slot and take ota and keep both or can I? I don't know enough about all this so I have to ask.
Thanks
The rom may not work once you upgrade. But you should be able to keep the rom in that slot as long as you uninstall SS before you take the update. Make sure to protect root.

Been hanging around here the last few days, reading and following. Not a noob, Not close to being a tester, not ready to be a minion either. Updated Su binary, have voodoo ready to temp unroot, unfroze bloat on stock rom, ss is off my device. What else do I wait for?
4.3 Rooted!!

I enjoyed playing with roms via SS but without a recovery with root solution, I'm playing it safe for now

I'm kind of stuck and feeling the same way. My wife don't like roms...was thinking about atleast using her phone as the tester phone. Lol

I just want to give my condolences for Samuri's Bionic. I've lurked watching posts since before ICS, initially on the forum which shall not be named, to here, to even catching posts on AndroidCentral. Not stalking btw, it just looks that way. I personally couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag even if my life depended on it and for you guys here on this forum...all I can say is wow. It's impressive the things you guys are able to accomplish. Especially when a total noob as myself can utilize your talents and accomplish these things with my own Bionic. I've learned lots reading...and reading...and re-reading and I know better how to look after my interests when making phone purchases in the future. I really just want to give respect to where it's due since the Bionic has reached it's EOL and I'll likely not tinker like this on my future phones.
