Ah, ok, I see the confusion. Right, so, there's 2 possible scenarios. First off, we have always had the builds leaked every time before the OTA. That happens on all the moto phones. People use a program called cheesecake to find leaks. There's never been a case where an OTA build just "appeared out of thin air". But, let's just hypothetically suggest that it was possible that we couldn't get the leak for whatever reason. In that case, we'd have someone with a rooted phone pull the update off their phone before installing it. So either way, we're GOING to get the OTA update zip before we get the FXZ. A few weeks after the OTA is finished pushing out, we should be able to acquire a new FXZ. So absolute worst case is that someone would have to wait for the FXZ to come out depending on how badly they screwed things up. My HoB has always been able to recover people who get in trouble, though, so long as they follow my one golden rule....that is to keep the update zip on the sdcard-ext. If you do that, I can unbrick it almost every time. Working on that with someone else right now in fact. I hope that helps. If not, let me know.

I updated the OP to include a link to the RSD 5.7 installer for HoB. Some people are having issues with RSD 6.14 so if that doesn't work for you, revert to 5.7 and see if that fixes it. Please let me know your experience with either version so I can get a sense of how wide the issue is. Thanks!

disclaimer: i was able to fix it..

problem: the root didnt work at the end of the 246 process in HOB

just wanted you to know.. i didnt think to get the error but it didnt seem to be able to write to the necessary files

normal root method (razrs edge i think) worked.

Someone else had that issue, too. No idea what caused it cause I haven't changed root since the beginning. It's using the razr's edge method so no clue what's up with that.

I'll think about it. I don't feel like changing anything again right now.

Thanks for this - just updated my Bionic to .246 using HoB, since the announcement of the delay from Verizon. Couldn't wait anymore. Worked great! Highly recommended. Thanks!

was it some kind of xml error? i got this too on both 5.7 and 6.1.4. solved it by installng rsdlite by itself and launching it; it asks for permission on first launch, which it doesn't seem to do when activated through HoB.

No that's a different issue you're dealing with.

Someone was asking what was different in 246. I don't know when it happened but Play Music now has an equalizer. I didn't notice this in 244 but I just may not have used it other than to re-sync my on-device music. And the screen is less jittery when the phone is charging on 246. It was nearly impossible for me to use on 244.

I also am one of those with CPU stuck at 1000 MHz max. It doesn't really matter to me, but I wanted to throw it out there.

I just installed 232 last night (Thank you SamuriHL for the help), and I see the Equalizer there, so it's not new.

As for the clock speed, I was at 1 GHz while on GB, but with the 232 ICS leak it is at 1.2 GHz. Quadrant score is 2951 (seems like it was 24xx or some such while at 1 GHz on GB).

Play Music gets updated in via the Play store - the updated version from Play Store probably has the EQ in it.

Wait, RSD Lite 6.14? I'd like a link for the installer for that....

Welcome back Sam! I know you will get a chuckle out out of this...I had tried to go to 246 yesterday and could not get past rsd reinstalling necessary componets...kept giving me errors...long story short I thought i would attempt to run with it with only 18% battery. Did not realize rsd cuts out if not enough battery left! Have always made sure I had enough battery in past so this was a first for me! Lesson learned!

Funny, I did the exact same thing b/c I didn't realize my battery was low. It took me 5 tries to figure out why the hell I was getting invalid cdt and boot and some other file messages. I retraced my steps 4 times before I finally saw the note in the Fastboot mode that it would not flash due to low battery.....

Exactly. You have the OEM cable. That is not a factory cable. TBH makes the factory cables. In fact....I need to go look at their site.

Yea, the adapters are out! I just ordered a couple myself. That way you can just throw the adapter on your OEM cable and you're good to go. :)
