There is now a Cyanogen mod for this device is there something that is part of that that you might be able to use to get us JB faster?

The way I understand it is that If Moto hadn't plugged holes, then yes..chances are we would probably have been able to HOB to it and heck,be able to dual boot like the RAZR can..but since CM,Killrom, etc. are compiled from source in a different manner than what moto does( CM and Killrom lack certain kernel additions which is why camera, etc.doesn't work as it should) they are the closest the bionic has to JB...and has nothing to do with HOB

With your phone connected to USB, reboot into AP Fastboot mode and Windows will detect it and install the right driver.

Okay SamuriHL, I will try to make this brief while making it as complete as possible. Last week I was able to install android 4.2.2 on my droid bionic (with safe strap installed). However, VoiceCommands and certain other aspects of the OS did not run properly and on installation I got the message "unfortunately android.media.process has stopped". In researching this, I most often came across the comment that a factory reset was necessary. Therefore, I did a factory wipe and reinstalled the most recent ICS (246) I could find. Now I am unable to root or install safe strap. First, thank you for the detailed instructions at House of Bionic. After reading your previous post I uninstalled the Motorola device manager and reinstalled it. When I attached the phone (using the OEM cable which I wasn't using before) in fast boot mode, the ADB driver did, in fact, install. When I tried to use razrs edge to root I still get the message "ADB not recognized as an internal or external…" And rooting does not occur. And when I try to use House of Bionic, even though I created a folder inside the house of bionic folder labeled "246_FXZ" and placed the 246 file in that folder, I get the message "FXZ found" and it lists the 246 file but then still gives me the message "error: cannot find archive syntax is incorrect disable web top (y/n)". I'm sure that there is something obvious that I'm overlooking and I hope the my question is not too uninformed. Thanks 1 million for helping all of us dilettante ROM flashing addicts.

That's pretty whacked. I'd just extract the FXZ manually into the 246_FXZ folder. Make sure to extract the FILES directly into the 246_FXZ folder. Inside the FXZ zip, there is a folder at the top level. DO NOT extract that folder into the 246_FXZ folder. Drill into it in your zip program and select all the files and extract those. Then when you run the HoB it should detect it and bring up the main menu. From there you should be able to go to the tools menu and root.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know.

Lookin' good so far! Thanks sensei! :-)

Well, although it appeared that your program went through all the steps necessary, when I checked to see if the Bionic was properly rooted it said that it was not. Tried again to reinstall safe strap and got the same message as before "unfortunately safe strap has stopped". I'm running the whole procedure again just to see if I didn't allow it to finish properly or something. I'll let you know.

I misspoke previously about the program going through all of its steps. On the second try, I got through the copying of three files. The FXZ file, the web top the web top XML, and the radio XML. Then the RSD (as it usually does) ended with the comment " you must manually reboot this phone". The house of bionic stayed where it was and never gave me the final comment until I unplugged the USB cable. At which point the additional comment came up "your phone will now reboot and install the radio in recovery. Once that is finished it will reboot again and boot normally. I reattached the phone and booted normally. Still no root. I reattached and followed the press any key to continue message and then received the thank you for entering house of bionic message which, of course, exited the program after I pushed a key. Any ideas?

Um, I think you have a misunderstanding of what option you're using in the House of Bionic, for one. If it's flashing things in RSD, you didn't choose the root option, you chose the Keep Data or FULL FXZ option which reflashes the phone to factory defaults. So yea, that's not going to leave it rooted. You need to go to the utility menu, then choose the option for root.

Hello, I bought a Droid Bionic with this error:

AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) Boot Failure
0A.72

Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0X0035)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)

--------------

I don't know wich firmware was originally, so I flashed the full FXZ .246 thru RSD Lite and it was sucessfully flashed, but still booting only with that message, I downloaded HoB 9.5 but I don't find an option to fix the AP Fastboot error, and I don't know what to do...

That's not one I'm familiar with. You did an RSD of the full FXZ and it was successfully flashed? Are you sure? I ask cause that should have fixed errors like this. I'd love to see your RSD log. SWDL.txt in your RSD install folder. This one may take some work to figure out. With the phone off, if you hold volume up and down at the same time and press the power button, does it bring up the menu?

Any chance a factory cable is needed? Battery too low?

If so, we'd see a message in AP Fastboot to that effect. Plus RSD would fail.

I have 2 computers, they are exactly the same, but the normal one, it fails at the 11/17 system.img, with the message PHONE RETURNED FAIL... and the other one flashes the entire FXZ, but is still booting to that message, if I press Vol (+) (-) (Power), I can boot to the menu normally, but every choice it makes appear the same screen error, a can't enter to recovery neither, the battery is not the problem, I have a universal charger for it, I tried the HoB to full flash the FXZ with erasing all data, but it hangs after the command fastboot erase cache... and the same operation with conserving the userdata, it completes, but again the problem, and if I press the Vol Down + Power it boots to AP Fastboot without the error message...

The FXZ its not corrupted because I flashed another Bionic with the same files and it worked sucessfully, and used the same usb port and the same computer, i'm going to post the Log file soon... thanks.

Update: I deleted my log file to make another one, only to flash this phone only, here is it...

That is definitely NOT a successful flash. Using the HoB, bring up the main menu, toggle the flash mode, and try the FXZ FULL option. I want to see the output of that screen, so, you'll need to copy and paste from the command prompt that the HoB is running in when it finishes.
