well i ran it as a new install Chose 1 and then then factory reset option 2 after it was done phone rebooted on its own didnt go back to AP boot, and then it went back to reboot and boot again, so i turned it off restarted in recovery and tried to apply the 246 file from SD card ( it didnt have a SD card in it when i got phone so i copied the 246 file onto SD card and named it update, not sure if this is something you still need to do, or if thats even right ?? on my SD card there are only 2 files the FXZ246 that i put there and LOST.DIR.. Am i doin that wrong also? I got this phone in this condition that it is in I am wondering if it has other internal issues, when its booted up and at the please wait screen you can see what looks like other things that look like they are burnt into the screen like a monitor that has been left on for to long on one logo and it flickers a little.

You don't need to name it update.zip anymore, but that will work just as well, IIRC.

If it has image burn in, and particularly if it has flickering, it sounds like the previous owner had it OCd and OCd the GPU as well, and perhaps fried CPU/GPU (at least partially).

If you're the only owner of this phone, and you've never OCd it, then something sounds like it is failing fast.

Woa woa. You don't apply an FXZ on the phone. You need to use the HoB to do it or just use RSD light, select the FXZ, and flash it. A factory reset isn't going to fix this.

I'd say it's time to consider a hardware problem, yes.

I would like to discuss the fact that with my new DNA, I am no longer stuck screwing with a locked boot-loader device, and can freely go to any ROM/Kernel that I would like. Just saying... :P

Can anyone supply me with a link to the files for an older version of HoB? Please i am trying to get back to 247 and the newest version doesn't support this. I need something that supports 905FXZ.

.247 is currently a pointless build but I'm backing off this subject not worth the time.

I'll comment on this as we've already discussed this privately. I don't support 247. I see no reason to. That being said, if you want to install 247, then learn how the HoB works and do the process manually. I've said many times that the HoB is not a shortcut for those that don't want to learn how things work. This is a case where you really should know what you're doing, and be able to do it by hand. The reason is, I will NOT support it. And when you get in trouble and screw something up, I'm not going to be there to fix it. So you really should know what you're doing and not rely on getting an old version of the HoB handed to you.

His exact reasoning is that .246 is not playing nicely with his phone. If it were anyone else besides Twink or me or Sam saying that, I'd be skeptical - but Twink knows what's up.

Nevertheless, finding an older version that you can partially fasboot the required files to swap to another leak is gonna be ... tough.

And for the record not everyone screws things up just b/c they want to do something that you don't support.

I ran .247 well past when you stopped supporting it, just as an example.

Why? The current version will work just fine for that. But that's my point about knowing what you're doing before doing it.....the fact that he doesn't know this shows me that we're going to end up with a situation that isn't going to end well and I don't want any part of it. I support 246 for a reason. If you want something else, figure it out. Sorry to take a hard line on this, but, very few people have been put into the position I was in during the ICS leaks and I have no desire to relive it.

Then they don't need the HoB now do they? :)
