Basically when it asks you, you tell it to download but when it asks if you want to install it you open up root explorer or some other equivalent, go to /cache, and copy it out of there. You must do that BEFORE you update or it will get deleted and you won't be able to grab it.

o) Ensure your SU binary is up to date
o) Install OTA Rootkeeper

You may do the same with SuperSU Pro, as well. I intend to use both. I'm paranoid like that.


OK, so I'm getting senile. Where do I check for the latest SU binary? Where do I find OTA Rootkeeper and SuperSU Pro?

OK, so I'm getting senile. Where do I check for the latest SU binary? Where do I find OTA Rootkeeper and SuperSU Pro?

su binaries- open superuser- slide to left most screen- tap the binary area where it says tap to update binary.

The supersu and voodoo rootkeeper are at the play store

Wouldn't you check the play store for those? :) SuperSU will check its binary when you open it. If you're using superuser, then there's another mechanism to update that I believe. I use SuperSU so I can't really speak to superuser and the exact process.

Thanks to both of you! Turned out I already had SuperSU. I told you I am getting senile. Now I have them all, and my rooted SU is saved. Gosh, I need sleep! :)
