At tomorrow's Tizen Developer Conference, Samsung will officially show off its first smartphone to run on the Tizen platform, rather than Android. The Samsung Z will feature a 4.8" HD screen, 2.3 GHZ processor, and a fingerprint scanner, and will debut in Russia, with plans to expand into additional markets sometime later. Tizen, which is a Linux based mobile OS, is controlled by Samsung and Intel among others, allowing Samsung to retain control over the software that goes onto their devices rather than having to meet Google's requirements for Android use.
