Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache ( in recovery) prior to running the utility?I used 1.82 to take my phone back to stock from the Droid HD rom. All went well until the phone finished starting up, I had the other roms wall paper as my background. I did a factory reset and it still had the old wallpaper. I flashed the utility and it was still the same. Its not a big deal reference changing the wallpaper but Im wondering if that means there is a problem else where to worry about. Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm guessing you logged in to your Google account immediately on initial startup/setup, yes?

are you using safestrap recovery (i'm assuming you are but i feel the need to ask just to be sure)....I wiped when using the utility then again when doing the factory restore from hboot. Yes I did log into my google account and I was thinking that my settings were saved there but the wallpaper should have been removed from my system when I used the utility. I also wiped my sd card so there was nothing on that. The phone seems to be working fine so It not an issue just strange.

Basically what happened was I used safestrap 3.05 to create a new partition(SD rom-1) to try out some new roms. When I decided what rom I was going with I wanted a fresh install. Using SS I deleted the rom and wiped everything. I rebooted into stock but my boot animation was messed up and and I used 1.82 to restore everything. I wiped as well. Once my phone started I had the wallpaper from the old rom I deleted. I hbooted and did factory restore and wiped. Started the phone and skipped all the start up options and from the setting menu i went and did another factory restore and wiped both my internal and sd card. Restarted my phone and the old wallpaper was still there. I have been using the phone heavily over the past two days to see if I could get it to mess up but it works perfectly. Not sure why the old walpaper keeps showing up. At this point I am 100% stock, unrooted.

Hmmmm..... unless i am missing something, it sounds like a device specific oddity... as we have seen a few of those..from time to time.... but... i guess try rooting, and SS, and rom(s) (if you so desire) and see if everything still functions normally....Basically what happened was I used safestrap 3.05 to create a new partition(SD rom-1) to try out some new roms. Secondly, is there is particular order to do this? I have the Utility open on my computer. Phone turned off. Power the phone on and put into AP Fastboot mode. Plug in the USB cable. Select option 1 on the Utility, then hit enter. Give the ok to continue. Then the utility does nothing says "waiting for device". Am I missing something? USB de-bugging is activated.

you will not lose anything that is on the sdcard(s) internal or external..... do you have the latest Motorola drivers installed?I am on the .215 leak and looking to go back to the .211 OTA in case a new official OTA is released. Will I loose all my data (pics/videos) during the flash back to .211 OTA?

Yes sir downloaded the included Motorola drivers first thing. Just didn't know if I had the correct order of what to turn on and plug in etc.

as long as you are charged, drivers installed, OEM USB cable plugged in, and in AP Fastboot, it should run ok... since our razrs can sometimes be finicky, try restarting your computer and do a regular reboot of your phone first ........ will the computer "see" your phone when not in AP Fastboot? e.g. as a mass storage, or media device, or camera?Yes sir downloaded the included Motorola drivers first thing. Just didn't know if I had the correct order of what to turn on and plug in etc.

Yes the computer sees the phone when NOT in AP Fastboot mode. I will try again sometime this week. Not in any rush just yet until a new OTA is released. Someone posted on another forum that they had received JB via OTA on their OG Razr but nobody has confirmed. So I was getting ready to be prepared for the OTA but it is believed to be false.
the first time i ever did it, when i installed the drivers, i had to cycle thru all the modes (mass storage, media, and camera)... then i put it in AP Fastboot and the utility ran flawlessly.... just our weird acting razrs...... btw which forum did you see the post about JB OTA for the razr?

thanx.... just looked it over, i dont believe that person was telling the whole truth about it.... in my opinion, if someone would "brag" about someting like that, then refuse to post a screenshot..... its seems very unlikely to me...droidforums.net

i cannot get windows 8 to open .bin files for anything... ugh 64 bit windows 8 must not work with bin files.. ive tried everything to get it to open DroidRAZRUtility.bat for my droid razr maxx and it wont open...
That seems odd. Sorry for the noob question but have actually EXTRACTED the utility to your desktop?? Some people open the zip and try to run it without extracting it
