Need some help all!

 

Tried to flash with this and am now getting "AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Recipe Failure) coming up each time!

 

I can still get into normal bootup with VOL-DOWN/POWER button combo, but this is an annoyanc that it comes up every reboot.

 

Any suggestions?

 

I tried reflashing a dozen times, once with SIM/SD out just to be safe.

I'm having the same problem with booting into fastboot (flash failure). I've tried both the utilities, all the original roms starting with 2.3 thru 4.1.2...and still I get the fastboot on bootup. I'm thinking I may have to just wait untill CM10 is ready for stock rom slot in Safestrap. 

 

If a fix for this actually presents itself....I'll be the first to let the group know.

For a Flash Failure message you need to get something/anything to flash correctly to get past that message. Whats been posted in the forum in the past is to simply just flash the logo.bin file and that should fix you up.

 

Once you get a good flash, the message should be gone and then you can try and flash the rom again.

where is the download link for v 1.82.... that was what i used to root now i want to unroot. so i can re root. cause many of my apps are saying i am not rooted.....

Are you still on ICS ?......

This utility is outdated now....

That is JB not ICS you will need the latest JB utility for that ...

Just a follow up been running Skull Candy for a few months now no problems had to download another wireless teather program found that SVTP-Lite works well. Oh and if you like Texas Holdem Live Holdem is Awsome its free no ads and i got over 1mill in chippies now. Acecducec is name on game. I backup my whole Rom once a month with safe strap to keep a current copy. This is by far THE BEST ROM! and the startup graphics are a nice touch always like to show off the boot screen. THANKS MATT.

OH, ON A SIDE NOTE LOSS OF SOUND: This is a problem with many droids and ROMS the Sound quits working on Droid. To Quick fix sound on Droid send yourself a text message Fixes it every time.

I'm Still on ICS and my phone is XT910 .

Unfortunately the OTA is not ready for my phone and carrier ...

I need to root my phone and backup everything before trying to install JB ! anyone can send the download link for V. 1.82 ?!

Matts utilities are for the XT912 not the 910. You can try this method, but it was written for JB so not sure it will work for you

Hoping that someone might be able to help with what I *think*? may be a quick & simple UNROOT issue. Don't see a lot of useful discussion about that online, aside from this thread. I'm on JB/4.1.2, Build 9.8.20-72_VZW-16. Used Matt's Utility v1.8 to achieve root last year, such that I might rid some bloat and gain the ability to freely tether. ROM/kernel are still VZ stock. Charge-port & audio-port both gone south, need to exchange - and unroot - handset. Are there directions for that?
Something about using something called AP Fastboot and choosing Option #1? Not sure I know how to boot properly into it because I'm not seeing any numbered options.

I have adb and Moto drivers all installed, although I don't think I'd need to flash the ROM since I'm still on the stock, right?

(#2: Also to avoid voiding, should I be removing all apps which have required root, and is TWRP the easiest/best way to create a backup for restoration on the new handset when it arrives?)
