I tired to get option 1 to work, but the phone just booted regularly after i had it in AP Fastboot and plugged into my computer (a windows 8 unit). I think the drivers are right, the computer recognizes the phone and SD card? Just want to give the guy a "clean" phone, thanks.

Am selling my Razr Maxx in order to get a Maxx HD, I uninstalled S3 recovery and am running stock .215, Do I need to flash Option 1 to get to .211 of can I just do a Factory data reset?

To completely "clean" and go back to stock then the utility is what you need... a factory reset will only wipe user data... I think maybe windoze 8 is the problem lol... it just rebooted immediately as soon as you plugged it in? ...... try plugging it in then put in AP fastboot see if that works

No, it actually rebooted when I hit the "1" key to start the utility? That's what I did, it was plugged in when I started the utility? I'be got a laptop with XP and an iMac if there's a version for the mac?To completely "clean" and go back to stock then the utility is what you need... a factory reset will only wipe user data... ok,let me update again, the 210 build was likely a ics build with gb kernel,so you will need to use matts 1.7 utility to upgrade, sorry for all the confusion
.210 was the last of the ICS "leaks" and was one of the ones that took you OFF the update path but could NOT be reverted back to GB so I believe 1.7 version of the Utility is the one needed for that as it has the UNSTICK ICS option that from my understanding you need to get to sideload the .211 official build.

< Waiting for device >
sending 'mbm < 512 KB>... FAILED < data transfer failure <Too many links>
rebooting into bootloader... FAILED < command write failed <No suck file or directory>
I'm looking for the 1.7 Utility but all the links are dead. Anyone got a link?
Best Regards,

The 1.82 utility failed after it recognised the device and tried to push 'mbm' .. e.g

rebooting into bootloader... FAILED < command write failed
I'm looking for the 1.7 Utility but all the links are dead. Anyone got a link?

Here is the Linux / Mac version ... the thread for Linux / Mac version is here [Linux/mac]---For-Verizon-Droid-Razr-And-Droid-Razr-Maxx-Only
BTW... the windoze version will work on XP if you want to do it that way

Thanks, I did it with the laptop. The windows 8 MIGHT have worked, if I actually LOADED AP Fastboot instead of just scrolling to it

I have a quick question about bootstrap and safestrap. I used the 1.81 utility to root my phone and installed bootstrap when I did that. I haven't actually used the bootstrap recovery though. Can I just uninstall it and then install safestrap with the 1.82 utility? I have read elsewhere that this might be problematic. I am thinking it won't be given that I haven't actually used it and have only installed it. Any advice from those of you with more experience and knowledge would be great.
Thanks!
You only installed the app, and never installed the recovery right? If so, just uninstall it and you should be fine I believe... worse come to worse you can always use the Utility again to get back to stock
