Done and done. Also tried a fresh install on a fresh slot using SS3.05

Go into the smart rotator app and disable it. That allows the auto rotate setting under display to stay checked. Then go from there and see if it does what you want.

Huh so when you press the toggle in the notification bar it doesnt work?

Well what it's doing is in the actual moto display settings the auto rotate checkbox will not stay checked. But I believe tmyinc has the fix. Will report back.
Example: I want to type a gtalk msg to my wife...I cannot rotate the screen w/ the keyboard so I can type better.

No disrespect but you aren't talking to a noob by any means so your answer is not it. <----not trying to sound harsh...just at work and it's not a good day.

The fact of the matter is that the option under Display will not stay checked.

No worries. And in a way, it was turned off... Just not the way I thought. I learn something new every day!

I downloaded from Mediafire this morning, and both locations this evening, and every time I try to install I get error messages. On wiped rom slot, and on newly created rom slot.
