 412  syst 987216xt912 verizon for a year and really like it.

have not had any updates go through, 

my problem just started happening

if i turn it off or reboot the phone it will go back on in the stock

i go back in safestrap and the slot 1 with the custom rom is gone...

i have to reload everything .

any clue how to correct it?

First things first ..... Which device to you actually have.... Since you have posted this in the RAZR HD section and here......

Chances are you use the clean master app (which is included on some ROMs...... Great app but you will need to go into it and "tell it" that the safestrap files are NOT junk files :)

i do run that program.

do i need to reinstall safestrap?

its a razr max i think

since i dont see it listed anymore should i reinstall it? or reboot and let it wipe it out again. start fresh and then add to  list?

Nah.... You won't need to reinstall safestrap but now since everything is is cleared/wiped anyway..... It would be a perfect time to follow this thread

and clean up and free up some space ...... Then simply re-create your slot(s) and re-flash your ROM(s).......

Also.... You could in fact "nuke and repave" using Matt's utility or Sam's house of moto...... For a fresh clean start.......

well i reinstalled and made sure clean sweep would not take  safe strap out..

rebooted and i lost rom slot 1 again. ... booted up in stock slot. 

any other ideas?
