Samurai, once the thread is locked will you be pulling the links? (Read: Should I be downloading now for an HD I know hasn't been used in months but I won't get to have in hand until next month? I may do that as a matter of prudence regardless, but it's easier (read: lazier) to download .apks to the phone you want them on directly.)

I can't promise the links are going to stick around.  I won't pull them myself, but, I'm not hosting either towel root nor the motoapocalypse apk.  Towel root is forbidden to rehost and I see no point in hosting an apk that will be worthless once people start updating to the new build.  And that's why I'm also getting out while the getting's good.  I ain't sticking around for the aftermath of the next update.

I've gotten a lot in return.  More than I should for sure.  I don't ask for donations, however, a very generous admin on this site has definitely taken care of me.  Because of that I was able to create new tools like the RSD Flasher which IMO is the best tool I've created to date.  Still working on some tools for the Linux/Mac guys and gals.  I just wanted to make sure you all took advantage of this unlock opportunity so that your community can enjoy a sense of freedom not felt for a year.  This will breath some new life into HD/M development given all the newly unlocked users to take advantage of the work being done.  I'm really quite pleased for you guys and gals to get this opportunity.  Enjoy it!

After root and BL unlock can we hard Reset phone?

Hey guys. I am kind of confused. I am rooted. I ran everything and allowed super user access to motopocolypse. But when I press unlock boot loader I get " please reboot after allowing access then press the button again." Well I have rebooted and the same message comes up. Also why do I need to unlock the bootloader?

Go in to fastboot and check your status code... No fireworks or anything happen.

Unlocking gives you the ability to always have root, and flash custom firmwares.

Ok, so, this thread is winding down quickly now because root is in fact also patched in the newest build.  There was some confusion about it that's been since cleared up.  It no longer works.  Period.  Once people who are locked take this update, the party is over for them for now.

Sure.  Once it's unlocked, you will remain unlocked.

I rooted last night succesfully. Oh, and I was unlocked. I launched into bootmenu on startup and saw it was infact unlocked. Quick question since I am not that tech savvy. I am on the Droid HD and I want to flash my rom but on rom manager it says I need CWM. But, when going to install it, it says my device is not on the list. So, how in the heck do I make a recovery so I can install a new rom. Also, is there any rom that works best for the HD?

Just did and thanks for compiling all of this. Phone is running 10000% faster once rooting and unlocking and uninstalling all of the bloatware.
