Once it's done and it reboots, reboot into AP Fastboot mode and it'll show a status. You wanna see 3.

Guys I realize that I asked some of the same questions you are asking, but that's the thing. Look earlier in this thread. I read every single page up to the latest post at the time that I did things. I only asked questions that were not asked/answered.
SamuriHL does a lot for us. I mean A LOT. He doesn't even own an HD and he still helps us out. Let's try not to waste his time asking the same thing over and over.

Sam is a glutton for punishment. But definitely deserves ALL KUDOS!!!!
He knew what he was in for, and we are all here to try and help...he has just gone way beyond on this one, and for good reason...
this is your last chance to UNLOCK your device. Its over 2 years old basically and nothing more is going to come so why worry about unlocking?!?!?!
Thats a rhetorical question for those that dont understand....IMHO.....

I really want people to understand something. Unlocked allows root always. Locked allows root when an exploit is available. I don't want you guys and gals waiting for an exploit that may or may not ever come. You've been incredibly lucky to this point. Don't let the luck run out on you. Unlock and protect yourself.

That's why I did the unlock procedure even though I haven't installed TWRP or done anything else. I'm taking advantage of the situation now for future opportunities.I really want people to understand something. Unlocked allows root always. Locked allows root when an exploit is available. I don't want you guys and gals waiting for an exploit that may or may not ever come. You've been incredibly lucky to this point. Don't let the luck run out on you. Unlock and protect yourself.

what topic can I discuss roms? I've read through this topic and heard that roms wont boot on a 3x kernel
am I misunderstanding something? I don't want to bring roms into discussion so where can I talk about them

I think you're going to find the process to be hugely underwhelming. I think you're expecting fireworks and some long drawn out process when the reality is it takes under a second after you click start and the longest part of the whole thing is the reboot.

Well there is one more update coming for sure.
But I agree with what both these guys have said. UNLOCK YOUR PHONE. As I said earlier, even for the simple pleasure of freezing that damn football app that comes preinstalled.
DO EEET!

Those who choose not to for whatever reason aren't going to get a lot of sympathy from me when the next update comes out and blocks root. The "when will this be rooted" posts are just going to be ignored by me. This is your chance to deal with that issue permanently.

All done here, had an issue using a USB 3.0 port but switched over to a 2.0 port and all is fine.

Running into a little bit of a snag here, trying to apply this method to my wife's xt926.
I followed the instructions in the OP, the rooting process went well, but now I have some issues with the BL unlocking. Ran motopocalypse, but then when I went into AP Fastboot, it's still showing me "Device is locked, status code 0" (Fastboot reason: Boot Failure) message.
My wife took the reguar OTA from VZW a couple of weeks ago with no issues, and her device is on system version 182 (KK 4.4.2).
What am I doing wrong?

Not 100% sure. I thought that Motopocalypse worked on build 182....but not sure. One suggestion would be to use Sams HouseofMoto with the latest sbf file which is build 183. Technically they are equal, but build 183 is the "real" line.
