Yea, flash 183 with keep data, root, and unlock.  Then if you wanna go back to JB we can get that hooked up.  One step at a time.  And yes, make sure the battery is charged.  Very important.

Pardon my noobiness :D but I don't want to downgrade my firmware to JB, I just want to reinstall the 183... build again which I hope would get me rid off this issue and for this isn't it just sufficient to install the FXZ 4.4.2 through RSD lite?

And to reiterate....it won't brick you. It'll either work and unlock you, or it won't and change literally nothing.

so is it just checking to see if it has the exploit?
also will cm11 work? I've heard tons of things about Roms

Yea, just run my KEEP DATA script in RSD for the 4.4.2 FXZ.  If you DO want to wipe data, flash the FULL script. That'll wipe everything, clean install 4.4.2, and get you back to a "out of the box" phone.  Whatever you'd like to do.

If you run motoapocalypse it's exploiting.  It runs regardless.  If you get an error, it failed.  If you don't, it succeeded and can be checked by booting into AP Fastboot mode.

Roms, that's a topic for another thread.  I don't want to get into roms in this thread just to keep it clean for those having issues with root/unlocking.  There's a good thread out there for this very topic, though.

Well, you CAN'T do any rom flashing until you do, so, no worries there.  :)

As long as your battery is charged, you won't have problems flashing with RSD.  I understand your trepidation but I've had LOTS of people do it over the years and I can count the number of permanent bricks on one hand.  But I understand.

So now that we are good on root...does anybody have a solid way of getting Wifi Tether working?

Not the right thread for this question.  Please post it in a new thread.  Thanks!

Yes, someone replied to your earlier question about that and said they had.  It's the exact same code so it should be fine.

Gains root, calls function in the trusted zone partition that unlocks phone by blowing an eFuse, reboots.  That's literally it.  When non-vzw users are able to get an unlock code, the function that's being called by motoapocalypse using root is the same one being called once the unlock code is verified.  So this just bypasses all the unlock code nonsense and simply calls the unlock function.

I don't know how many times I can say it.  I've said it at least 6 times already.  It works, or it doesn't work.  That's it.  I get that you're tepid, but, I can't keep repeating things over and over again.  Sorry.  Either do it, or do not.  At this point, you have all the info you need.
