Root AND Bootloader?

Also when I do this, should my phone be plugged into my computer

Root AND bootloader. lol

I didn't use a computer at all. Everything can be done from the phone, although I did use Flashify to flash TWRP without a computer as suggested/stated above.

if you using the 2 apk's on your phone no. But just to be careful make sure you have a good charge, that way if there is any issue, battery wont be one of them :)

Its very easy. You wont feel a thing :)

Hi guys,

I have flashed through RSD the flash_tz.xml file, but I 've forgot that I had used the Keep Data script and not the Universal one, now when I force restart the phone I always get into the AP Fastboot mode which tells me that "Fastboot Reason: Flash Failure" could someone please help me with this situation?

Use the Keep Data script again and that'll fix you up.  If not, post the SWDL txt file from the RSD directory and I'll take a look.

Literally the steps in the OP.  Install the towel root app, run it, install the motoapocalypse app, run it, install supersu from the play store, update the binaries in supersu.  Done.

Worst that happens with this process is it simply doesn't work.  That's it.

Actually Install towel root app, run it. Install SuperSu from Play store, run it and update binary, then install motoapocalypse app and run it... The SuperSu app is needed to grant the permissions to the unlock app B)

This ^

This is the first Android phone I've ever had that wasn't rooted and running custom ROMs, kernels, mods, etc. within a week of owning it. Now that it's available for the first time since I've had it I'm like a kid in a candy store. I'm not telling you to throw caution to the wind (although that's what I do), but you really can't brick your phone if you follow the instructions in the OP.

Naw.  There's no need to grant perms with towel root's su binary which is what makes it so dangerous and why I tell people to replace it, but, it's not a necessary first step.  Scary yea?

Alright I'll try it

Do I need to be plugged into a source?

No, you're not flashing anything.  Just running a couple apps.  Shouldn't take more than 2 minutes for the whole process.

If you have anything above 50% I would just run it.

Hell I had SuperSu updated and binary updated before I did it without issues. I also used the pc version to unlock too and had to grant permissions after it booted back up and unlocked the screen to adb shell. Go figure

Alright, I did it and it rebooted. Will it reboot again or should I just directly install SuperSU

Edit: I installed what it told me to from SuperSU and its now working! Should I use the motopocolypse apk or the zip from the op next?

You can run the app to unlock if you wish to unlock the bootloader. Or just install SuperSu and retain the root status. Towel root only installs the binary for rooting so the app is needed.

Try the app.... if that don't do it I know the PC version will.

Run the motoapocalypse apk to unlock.  It's easier than dealing with adb.  If it fails, then we'll deal with other ways.
