Hey guys I replaced my digitizer and touchscreen and my screen is still not turning on but all other functions work such as notifications lights and sounds and if I insert my HDMI cable to the TV I can see my display. I could do the HDMI thing before the broken screen and it still works after the screen replacement. The phone fell pretty hard when it first broke is there any way to tell if it could be something else or did I receive a defective screen.

Probably a defective screen..... Or.... You possibly made an error during installation (which is very easy to do)...... Me personally, I would tear it back down and double, triple check all your ribbon connections.......:)

Snapping in the cable ends is a common trouble spot.

One of the cable end tabs is missing so I used a piece of tape to keep it in place. I tried playing around with it but the screen never turns on. I will try one more time when I get home if not I think I might just get a RAZR m

Its possible that it may have gotten half cockeyed even with the tape on it..... And when you applied power it shorted or blew something causing the screen to not come on......... Is the screen responsive to touch or just dead and black?

I tried messing around with the connector again but the screen still isn't coming on I turn off the phone pull the connector in and hold it in place while turning it on and still nothing. There is no response from the screen when touched and the screen never turns on(stays black). I use the HDMI and otg cable to power off the screen.

Could it be that the phone cannot completely reach the signal to the display I had tried to send it to Motorola to replace the screen and they sent it back saying that they couldn't fix my phone. I'm guessing I might need to buy a used phone? I could get access to the phones ui through an HDMI cable to the TV and an on the go cable hooked to a mouse I was able to play with the phone and it worked perfectly on the tv

I would say with almost 100% certainty that the problem lies with the screen or the connections to the screen .... There could very easily be a tear in a ribbon that you cannot see

HD tapadriving..... hillbilly style!!!

The locking tab is missing can that be replaced or would I need to replace the entire ribbon? Does anyone sell it? What is the technical name for it?
