Did you make sure you had USB debugging checked under settings>developer options? Also do you have the latest moto drivers installed, and using the original moto USB cable, and plugged into a USB 2.0 port? USB 3.0 ports don't play well with moto phones for flashing

Also make sure you have a fully charged battery before attempting to flash anything.

Maybe the usb debugging is disabled, I can change this being bricked?

Yes, it's charged at all, I had done this many times before and I had never missed anything, do not know why it happens.

USB debugging doesn't affect apfastboot. Windows 8 is the most likely culprit.

can't install the fastboot drivers manually? or force to be detected correctly? I tried it with Windows 7 and neither detected correctly

Do you have android SDK installed properly as well... Also make sure you are not using a USB 3.0 port. Tends not to work so well.

If you are using HOM for it you should not have any issues with fastboot. Sam has the proper files needed linked in his tread...

Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor Request failed )......... The last time I saw that error, it was a hardware failure on the phone....... As far as using Linux .... Like was already posted, you shouldn't have any issues... If you get the same (or closely similar ) error in Linux as well, then more than likely it is a hardware failure.......

I'll have to take it in for repair, I can not get it to work for myself.
