Updated to 6.1.5. That worked.
BTW, someone posted a 4.4 FSZ at XDA. Flashed that.

Yes, I know. I just uploaded it to my 4shared account and updated the OP.

NEEDED:
A brave locked M user who has NOT taken the OTA already to flash KK with these exact instructions in the OP. I want to see if you can then downgrade back to 9.30.1 using the same instructions with the 9.30.1 FXZ and the universal script. If it works, root should be possible for those who've not taken the OTA already.

Hello I know the forum states this allows for updating from any previous version but I wanted to make sure that this is true before executing this script. I currently have system version 98.18.94.XT907.Verizon.en.US. Android 4.1.2 Build 9.8.1Q-94. Just want to ensure I am ok using this system. I also read I need to plug my usb into a USB 2 port. I opened my device manager and it showed that I have: Intel® 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26 & (1E2D), Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller, Intel® USB 3.0 Root Hub, USB Composite Device, USB Mass Storage Device, and two (2) USB Root Hub. My curernt PC is a Dell with 2 USB ports in the front and 2 in the back. Will I be able to use any of the above listed ports or am I out of luck? Thanks for any and all feedback.

No idea about your ports, but, yes, when I say it can update any previous version, I didn't post that just for fun.

I just want to say, Sam, I might have a man crush... I have everything ready to go, just waiting on the phone to charge up. Your FXZ generator is the first script of yours that I've ever used, and it is pretty awesome. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I found my manual for my pc and turns out I had multiple USB 2 ports. I ran the script and all worked out perfectly. Thank you for providing this script. Outstanding Work!!!! By the way I ran this on my phone which i factory reset to get rid of root. My wifes phone is still rooted. Should I factory reset hers, or just unfreeze all the apps I had frozen and leave it rooted while performing this script?

Ugh. The FDR was 100%.....unnecessary. My script removes root and leaves all data in tact. Please don't FDR a phone just to unroot it as surprise, that won't unroot it! Root remains on the system partition even after an FDR.

I royally screwed something up. And I'm confident it's not completely appropriate for this particular thread, but I'm approaching have arrived at desperation.
I can boot into stock recovery KDA.20.62-10 but I can't flash anything. After verifying update and installing update, I keep getting:
file_getprop: failed to stat "system/build.prop: no such file or directory.
Installation aborted.
My computer won't recognize my phone, so I can't adb, fastboot or rsd lite.

You don't need to install an OTA with this method, BUT, you do need to get the machine to recognize the phone in AP Fastboot mode. Uninstall the Moto driver, reinstall it. Make sure you're on a USB 2 port. Make sure you're using the original OEM cable that came with the phone. And then follow the instructions in the OP.

it'll recognize the phone even if I can't get past the boot menu?

It should, you'll just have to boot straight into fastboot.

What the hell did you do to that poor device? LOL. If you power it off and hold volume down and tap power, does it boot into AP Fastboot mode?

I did this about 10 minutes ago, system took the longest to flash. I'm not sure exactly how long, but just let it sit. Don't touch it! Touching it will do bad things.
