We're seeing far FAR too many of these issues lately.  I don't have a fix for that issue.  The partition table is corrupt and stuff can no longer be written to the phone.  None of us know why this happens and there is no current fix for it.  There are a few threads on this.

You said it died. Was it maybe inn the middle of an update and was interrupted, like low battery shut down or a power off or force reset?

Were you down grading? What did it say when boot.IMG failed? The device will boot into fastboot until you flash something successfully or clear the mode.

I know I'm several months behind the times, but I just wanted to say thank you SamuraiHL, mods, and others for this.

Taking advantage of this FXZ has been a bit of a challenge (emotionally, not technically - the instructions were straightforward enough).  I lost my dad (who owned an M) in March, and mom has been in her comfort zone of a Centro for...  well, it's a Centro.  I (finally) Titanium Backup-ed Dad's data and unlocked the M, and am going show Mom the wonders of Titanium Backup (see also: the only reason I ever want root on anything).  We'll head over to Big Red to switch the data plan on Dad's to Mom's line sometime around Turkey Day.  Now, to FXZ to the latest build...

In other news, I need to have the phrase "adb reboot recovery" scrubbed from my brain completely.  I always, always, always do that, and then go, "Why isn't fastboot (in the cmd window) listing any devices?"  D'oh!

To get you, the locked or unlocked RAZR HD xt907 owner, from any version to 4.4.2 (KDA20.62-10.1).

Hey Sam, may want to clarify the wording here.  Razr M XT907. Or perhaps Razr HD / Razr M XT907?  The file clearly points to the M's FXZ

Hi guys, thanks for all that you do. I want to be sure I'm going about this the right way. I'm still on jb bl and finally going to upgrade to kk bl. I don't care about data loss, actually prefer a nice clean install. Already unlocked so I can just download the 4.4.2 fxz, do a straight flash in rsd lite, install custom recovery, then flash superuser to regain root. This is accurate, is it not? Work has taken up all my time and have been out of the loop here for a bit.
