Well there you go then.  Sucky solution but a solution nonetheless.

I'm now restoring my nandroid to see if the problem comes back. I know earlier today, when I had wifi on, I couldn't hook up the keyboard. When I had the keyboard hooked up, it wouldn't connect to wifi. Of course, that was at work, so maybe something funky was going on with my work's wifi.

We'll see what happens once the nandroid restore is completed and I try again. But if that was the fix, then it's definitely a sucky solution. What's odd is that I restored everything from TiBu backups when I went to KK, so it was a completely fresh install with nothing on it except updates from Google Play.

Now, if I could get rid of the annoying popping sound that happens when locking and unlocking the screen, as well as when I start music up initially, or start typing. It sounds like a static electricity pop and I'm not the only one experiencing it.

Is anyone with the official OTA having this issue? It still occurred after I did the FDR, but I'm still running on a soak update. If people with the official OTA aren't having this popping noise, then I have to think it's the soak test. But, since they were having the Bluetooth/wifi issue, then I'm thinking the issue still persists with the official OTA.

UPDATE:

Nandroid restore is complete and now Bluetooth and WiFi together work. Go figure.

Not sure I understand the symptoms - I am able to listen to music through my bluetooth headsets and still use wifi.. does this mean I got lucky?

No problem with wifi coming from 9.30.1. leave the house and when I return, it automatically connects again.

But does it work and stay connected with Bluetooth on as well? That's my issue. If both are on it will stay connected for a bit but then freeze data or drop the connection.

Well, I just did a complete backup with TiBu and I can do a nandroid as well in CWM and then do a full data reset to see if that fixes it. I can try tonight and see what happens. I'll let you all know.

Hi, I am experiencing the WiFi Bluetooth connectivity problem and downloaded TiBu to follow your resolution but the app is warning that my system settings might cause problems and instructs that I should enable "USB Debugging".  I cannot locate the option on this official KitKat release.  Am I missing something or is it safe to proceed?

The FDR appears to have helped. Here is a screenshot showing my Bluetooth enabled and hooked up to my Bluetooth keyboard as well as hooked up to wifi: Before, if I was hooked up to WiFi, the Bluetooth icon wold be greyed out and I couldn't get my keyboard to hook up.

If I was hooked up to the keyboard, I couldn't get wifi to connect.

Should I perform the FDR or FXZ using the FULL option and subsequently restore the TiBu DATA partition backup?  SamuraiHL stated that there was a change to the data partition format which prevents recovery from loading consistently and I would like to address both of these issues if possible.

Do bluetooth and WiFi continue to play nice?

After performng upgrade to KitKat from 4.1.2, WIFi signal strength significantly reduced and had problems getting IP from home router. Bluetooth on or off made no difference. I reported the issue to both Verizon and Motorola tech support personnel who put me through multiple Factory Data Resets. Each with no improvement.

Since I had isnurance on phone I got replacement phone which had 4.1.2 on it.  WIFI performance is back to what I had with my other phone when it was on 4.1.2.

I strongly beleive that this version of KitKat is faulty and would not recommend it to anyone until the WIFI bugs are worked out.

Very strange that after using the phone for 1 month on 4.4.2, today WiFi stopped working - the phone can simply not see the home WiFi network on my dad's phone.

I wrote more about this here:

We will have to try factory reset and see if that helps.

Else downgrading to 4.1.2 is the only option.
