Motorola has officially announced the Moto E, which is the successor to the Moto G and the next in its line of budget friendly smartphones.  The phone will come with a 4.3 inch, 960X540 Gorilla Glass 3 display, Snapdragon 200 processor, 1 GB of memory, 4 GB of internal storage which can be expanded with a micro SD card, a 5 MP rear facing camera, and a nearly stock version of Android Kit Kat.  All of this will come at the rather incredible price of $129.  That's $129 period, no carrier subsidy, no contract.  Now clearly Motorola is not targeting the high end smartphone crowd with this, but anyone who is looking for a lower cost smartphone that packs respectable features for the money could do far worse than the E.  More information about the E, as well as a hands-on first impression, can be found right

Keep in mind that this is not meant to make a splash in the the US market - however, it does come with an unlocked bootloader.

For the US, however, Moto is releasing a new version of the Moto G that will be an "LTE" model.  This is big news as the G is 8GB, 4.5" 720 Display,Snapdragon 400 Proc, yada yada AND an unlocked bootloader  --- all for $219.  Sorry though, no VZW here however.

The only issue I have with my Moto G (GSM) is that there isn't a MicroSD slot and a non removable battery.
