Ok you are not alone, but there is a way around this problem. What it is is the assert embedded in the update binary causing this issue. If you are doing a full wipe I mean in advance wipe where mark system, data, cache and wipe from the don't. Just do a standard wipe data factory reset and install. If you happen to do this and get the failed install error, flash the KK flashback the factory reset and install. It will boot. I will look into more on this assert issue when,I get some time.I'm on the latest boot loader and had no issues installing previous version of omni.

Open the rom with 7 Zip then in there navigate to \META-INF\com\google\android\
Open updater-script with a text ediror (not wordpad or notepad. Preferably Notepad++ or any *nix compatible one) and remove the assert and save it.
Asserts are not in the binary but in the Edify script. The binary just is what runs the script.
Honestly asserts are pointless to include because anyone downloading a custom rom is already a power user. The only thing I see ithat should be ncluding them are auto updaters

I couldn't agree more, but since dhacker desighned these asserts to detect which device you are running and also what bootloader it is on there has to be a reason it failed. That is why I stressed installing the flashback to KK. I know he stated that he was already on the KK bootloader but something is being detected not allowing the install to follow through...
Downloading it now to take a look at the edify script myself.
Edit: Removed all get prop's and asserts. Should make installing MUCH easier. Pull the META-INF and push it to your repo that you are compiling from
Here is my dropbox of it

Sorry to say but I was way wrong..... This will feel silly of me. I also decompressed my own ROM to see wtf is going on with it... To what I am seeing is that when the script is trying to format the system partition with the partition being mounted causing it to stop the installation. If you must have to do a full complete wipe make sure you go back into the mounts and un-check the system before installing the ROM.... I am looking into why this has changed and it is more or less on Omni's side so that is where I am going to start...

Am I missing something or are there no screenshots in this post or on the OmniROM website? I'm curious as to what it looks like.
