To make changing from CWR to TWRP while on the Kit Kat Bootloader I made up a update.zip to be installed in CWR rather then having to fastboot flash it in.

Added to the bottom of the OP if anyone needs it..

Thanks for Playing

Now I am off to Modding again.

Enjoy.   :p

I've heard twrp is buggy. That's why I stuck with clockworkmod

Its just the time issue which I found out if flash dhackers 06-24 CM build he add stuff in there that fixes it. TWRP is a very steady user friendly touch screen recovery. Don't knock it unless you try it.

It looks like dhacker managed to fix MMS and a lot of bluetooth issues in his 7/2 build, maybe some of those fixes could be applicable to omni? ROMs are showing great progress in that past week or so!

Confirmed, no BT fix yet.  This is also a problem with almost all of the 4.4 ROMS.  Just tried Kitstalk, and Liquidsmooth.  Same problem.

Well, the annoying popping noise is back. It happens when I press the any of the buttons on the bottom of the home screen, when I launch apps, etc. This was the same issue that occurred with the KitKat OTA that plagued many phones.

Would love to get this fixed. I know there is an updated boot image that fixes this, but it's for stock KK images, so I'm assuming if I were to flash it with Omni, it would break it?

Also, when under stock, I could use adb to shell into my phone. Under this ROM, I have developer enabled and USB Debugging. When I connected it to the PC, it searched for the drivers, installed them and it immediately pops up a Windows Explorer window, showing my internal and external storage. I can navigate into them via Windows Explorer and all, but when I go to use adb, no devices show up. Same with fastboot.

I like to adb shell into my phone to do things, but now I can no longer do that under OmniROM. It works under stock as well as when I'm in TWRP, but not in the ROM. Any ideas?

Thanks!

UPDATE: ADB Issue was due to the driver. Took some doing, but I got it working again by updating the ADB driver.

As for the popping noise, I'm not sure if this is possible under this ROM, but I went and decided to try CM11 nightly builds. I pulled down the 07/09/2014 build and it had the same issue. Looking in the thread for CM11, I noticed that it stated to turn off touch sounds and that fixed the popping noise.

Not sure if Omnirom has the same thing in the sound settings? If so, that seems to fix the popping noise for anyone that is interested.

Thanks!

Thanks Tim....
@ibolski Audio issues seems to be through out 4.4.4 not just device specific and sound is being plagued with minor gliches. Yes turning off touch sounds is a option I believe on every Rom. So good to know.

You could flash some other sounds, I can't remember which one I flashed, but I found one that wasn't annoying:

Thanks for the info.

At this time, I just got the latest OTA soak test so I'm testing the snot out of it so I'm no longer running Omnirom or CM11 (which sucks as I just put them on over the weekend as I got tired of waiting for the soak test to come to my phone). It's still the 4.4.2 version.

The popping noise is still present, but it's not present if you are in silent or vibrate mode, so that's better than the KK OTA. There is a boot image out there that was compiled against 4.4.2 AOSP that fixes it and I have tried it and it works with the latest KK soak test.

I've also verified those with unlocked bootloaders can take the KK FXZ and flash back to the previous version of KK.

I haven't tried to see if I can install CM11 or Omnirom on the new KK soak test, but I would assume probably we can since it's still on the 4.4.2 kernel.

Bluetooth issues seem to be fixed as well. Towelroot still works for those interested, but I have no idea about the bootloader exploit, but someone is looking into that as we speak. I would unlock before the OTA comes out for this soak if you haven't because you might be sorry, depending on what the investigation finds out about the tz partition.

He is refering to the Stock Base 4.4.2 not Omni 4.4.4. Working on getting a update as soon as time allows me too.
Stay tune
