Safestrap v1.07 and Stock CM10 build. Sorry forgot about the other ones. Didn't realize there were newer versions of Safestrap either since I did my first Rom like last month

You'll need to upgrade to Safestrap 3.0.5, which can be found on Hashcode's blog with detailed instructions. After that, you should be set.

Awesome, thanks. A little research would have went a long way here.

Edit: This would help if I was running ICS, but I'm flashed to the Eclipse rom which is GB. I can't seem to find a download for the ICS update. Guess I could just revert back to an old backup then update to official ICS. Better Ideas?

If you want to get on ICS you can use the House of Bionic thread to update to 246.

You may be able to do so without losing data, I'm not sure of your particular situation. You'll want to read the HoB thread and the FAQ link.

Your SS backups won't work on newer SS so just think about how you want to backup any important data, just in case.

Ah, I was assuming you were on ICS. I feel like GB is the stone-age, heh. Erm, to flash these ROMs you'll need to be on either the ICS leak, which is now useless since we got the official ICS update a couple days ago or the official ICS update. You gotta revert to stock and update to ICS to flash these. As marleyinoc said, the House of Bionic thread has all the instructions.

Hey, guys. I actually really enjoy the boot animation from this rom, and I was trying to use across the board on my phone (as I keep trying a bunch of different roms thanks to SS3). So, I have been having a difficult time finding the booting animation. Does anyone know where it is?

if you go to system/media there should be a bootanimation.zip in that folder

Jay - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 - just root....for now at least

retired Bionic - JB via HoB - Safestrap 3

Just got this installed and wow, it's awesome. I've looked around but didn't see anything, is there a menu option to increase the vibration of the soft keys? It vibrates, but it's very light

Not running at the moment and may be confused with CNA, but check under sound settings.

This $#!7 is so far over my head that it makes me want to dig out my old Dell Axim X5 and play with Pocket PC.

I understand what "kexec" means, but I'm a little fuzzy on what it does or how a kexec version of this rom differs from a stock version (other than features that do or don't work). Can someone point me to a resource that explains why one type of rom would be preferred over the other?

Thanks.

Google Hash of Codes and read what Hashcode has to say about kexec (and safestrap, for that matter.) I'd link but I always just Google and click his blog myself too.

As glad as I am to know he stays busy developing cool stuff, I wish he had more time to write because he breaks things down well and has a great writer's voice.

Well, I tried the suggested sources and still don't understand the difference between why I'd want to use a kexec-based version over a stock-based version for the same rom, unless there was a feature that worked on the former but not the latter.

For this one, it seems like the stock base is more stable/fully featured. Correct?

The reason why there is a kexec and a non kexec at the moment is because each has its own issues. This lets you decide which issues you would rather deal with.

In our case for the bionic the differences are, kexec brings smooth screen rotation and non cropped screenshots but no camera.

Non-kexec has buggy but working camera but has screen rotation issue and cropped screenshots.

Data is working great on both for me. So it comes down to what you can live with broken.

Further in the future kexec will hopefully clear all issues there are.... but is a very involved process to get working.
