So I just downloaded via the OTA updater. Just read the last few posts and realize there were a few issues earlier today. Just wondering if they have been fixed, before I flash. Also I have not upgraded to ss3 yet does that pose any problem with flashing the update?

Its been working fine. When downloading the update DO NOT click install. Make sure you follow the directions in the first post of this topic for the OTA update. I wiped my data and cache in ss before install and it works perfect.

What major updates are there? There is no change log.

I made the mistake of installing when the update asked, then I rebooted into safe recovery 2.11.

I wiped the cache, then reininstalled the update the update from downloads/ARCTIC 1.0

It doesn't work, the Playstore cannot be accessed, nor can your control panel under settings.

What now?

Thanks!

I would like to get a few things straight before updating. I'm currently on safe strap 2.0 will that be a problem?
If not, after downloading update I need to:
reboot into SS
wipe data, cache, davlik
hit install zip from within ota updater folder
Reboot
after it loads reboot again for best results.
Or do I have to format system like you have to when originally installing the rom?
Last question, providing Safe strap 2.0 should not be used, how do I go about updating to ss3?
Thanks in advance to any and all that help.

I just realized that when it asked me to install I hit yes. Obviously thats probably the cause of the apps force closing. How do I go about fixing this?

Same thing here, I reinstalled the .apk for Google Play you provided, installed it, when I try to open - it force closes.

What I ended up doing is restoring a backup and now I'm making sure I have the right steps before I proceed.

The Google Play Store is back but ONLY after I did a Data Wipe and started over!

However, when I go into Droid HD Settings/Check for Update, it crashes/force closes.

How do I confirm that indeed, I now have version 1.0 of your ROM?

Thanks!

Hmmm, I see folks having issues after downloading the update. I used the OTA update tool and have had no issues. I left the default wipe option provided which i think was just wipe Cache and let the tool do all the work. I wonder whats different. I have not gone to ss3 yet, still on 2.1

Decided to wait on update. I am very happy with the version I have now. I'd like to see a changelog.

Ok so all went well after boot. Buuutttttttttttttt, Now the OTA updater has the same update "Arctic HD version 1.00" available again! This is the same Update from yesterday as well. Kinda odd. All is well though. All Apps seem fine.

Ss3 should not have bricked you...... first off, did you have the right version for your phone?

I unbricked it. The instructions by the maker did not disclose *(or maybe I didn't read carefully enough) that you have to install your desired ROM into one of the slots.

So I made a 1GB partition and loaded Arctic 1.0 latest build into the new slot, and then made that the default boot ROM, and got everything back.

But I'm still confused even now why your control panel settings, like checking the update, force closes. Meaning I can't verify that it is indeed version 1.0 but I see the song music is gone from booting so I assume it is.

Now, am I to understand I can create another 1 GB slot, if I wish, and try another ROM by carrying out the same process, after first wiping Cache and so on...?

Thanks again!

Gary
