you can use any root file explorer to goto /system/media and delete or rename the .ogg file that resides there, that it the the sound for the bootanimation sound....

The name of the .ogg file should be droidhd.ogg .....

Just want to make sure, will the rom work correctly if i delete the file or should i just rename it?

either way it will not affect the ROM...... me personally i would rename it (in case you want to use it again) just add .bak to the end of the filename

I still use Root Explorer a lot too, but if you haven't checked out Solid Explorer, you should. I think it's still in Beta, but it's a pretty complete file manager for both rooted and unrooted use.

I was getting the FC with the new Play Store too. What I did to fix it was, after installing the new one, went into TiBu and changed the new install to a System App. That fixed it.

Thanks... I used Rom Toolbox to change instead of TiBu.. but fixed the problem... and the latest version works great...

I like Solid Explorer, especially the single tap to select double tap to open feature and the dual panes for drag and drop. If it was inverted or ICS themed it would be perfect.

yes go to system apps rename gmail.apk to gmail.bak copy the new gmail.apk to system/apps, make sure and make the permissions the same as they were on the old gmail.apk and reboot

My bad. I threw it in system/app/ folder and fixed permissions + rebooted. All good.

I'd installed the ROM last nite works beautifully for the most part but I have notice a small percentage of my apps have crashed on me that haven't b4 the install so I'm wondering if I should reinstalled? Its possible I didn't wait long enough for the OS to settle.

Also wondering, I'm using Titanium Backup can I backup system data and restore after reinstall Arctic HD?

Can someone help me with a small issue? I have a escalade and i am running arctic room. I want to use my USB port to stream slingbox to my dashboard monitor. Reading the manual its says its for and Ipod. Im sure there is way to use this with my razr but im not knowledgable enough to achieve it. thank you in advance.

I would think this may be more of a function of what the slingbox app allows.
Have you checked the slingbox forums?
