Odd that there hasn't been any official acknowledgement of any outage or a warning of scheduled downtime due to maintenance, etc.

everything seems to be functioning on Arctic HD - however, persistent sign in error - remove it and it comes back seconds later.

I think maps received an update yesterday (and I had to manually go into the store to get it)....wasn't there something with the way these google apps were signed that made them a bit different? Or, I could be thinking about something I read for another ROM - but, could that update have rocked the boat?

If you use Arctic, I'm assuming your hardware keys are functional, correct? What happens if you hold down the Search key for a couple seconds? Does it prompt you to assign an app to that key? If so, choose Voice Search. From then on, long press the Search key will bring up Voice Search.

I knew exactly what you meant. If you just press the Search key, the Google search box (your 2nd image) will display where you can type in your query. However, if you LONG press that same key, the Voice Search (1st image) will show up if configured properly.

Hmmm my Google maps and navigation are missing from my phone? I used them last night so I know they were there.

Can someone who has maybe tested the governor and I/O settings give me some advice on what works the best with this ROM? I've read a little about them and understand what they do, but was hoping someone could give me some tried and true settings to maximize performance and battery life.

Good, now we're getting somewhere.... That means your Search key is associated to the old Voice Search app. You had to have configured it that way previously, whether intentionally or accidentally. Go to Settings - Apps, and clear defaults of all voice search apps you find. After that, long press that Search key and it will prompt you for the new association.

Just curious, not complaining, why is it that the Droid HD rom has been updated and the Artic HD hasn't? Only difference is the onscreen keys right?

To launch voice search in Google now say the word GOOGLE.

and yes nothing but the soft keys is different for the most part. Is there a major issue your having?

ArcticHD was just updated a few weeks ago. What sort of update are you looking for?

Can someone help me sort Google Now?
It doesn't show me the updates when I'm around Bus and train stations. My wife has an Atrix with JB and she even gets pop-ups about the next train and buses..

It doesn't even show me any card..what should Notifications be set to?

Standard, low priority or off to see the updates like her??

Yep...need to go into the Google Now settings and tweak all that. Standard or Low Priority is what you want to set them to if you want to see them. And keep in mind too that Google Now actually learns as you use your phone, so it might take a few days while it learns your route to work and back home, etc. A big thing you need to turn on...Check Ins on Latitude. Google Now tracks your overall location with Latitude (which was just now fully integrated into Google Maps). So open up Google Maps, click on your icon and get into the Latitude settings to tweak it. And yes, you can turn settings on that are only available to just you, meaning your approved Friends won't see all your latitude traveling and what not.

Love this rom to death. Was using it as a daily for about a week, until I needed navigation and the GPS took about 15 minutes to lock. I can't use this rom until that's fixed. But thanks for all the hard work. The rom itself is fantastic.
