Do you know why the launcher force closes why I try to turn off/on GPS from the quick settings? I'm on Stock non rooted OG RAZR.

Since Android 2.3, GPS setting cannot be directly accessed by any 3rd party toggling app. Most toggle apps take you to the Locations setting screen, some will FC.

Actually.......... I'm running this ROM. I use Llama and it's "helper app". I have a rule set up, when I start MAPS, the GPS starts. When I stop MAPS, the GPS stops.

Also Elixir Toggle Widget does work too. You have to install it as a system app and so on, but it is easy and does work. There may be others too. I like the Llama solution as the GPS only needed (for me) when looking at Maps.

This never happens to me and I turn on and off the gps all the time. Never had a problem doing it with notification toggles either.

I think people have already reported this, but doesn't hurt to add another bug report. Someone sent me an MMS earlier and I waited for over an hour and never received, then switched back to my non-safe side and got the message immediately. Originally I had it set so it would retrieve them automatically, so I tried turning that off and it still wouldn't receive it on the ROM.

Edit: It seems that when I turned off automatically retrieve MMS, that it works now.

Yes, correct... for some ROMS, not all. Generally, will work for ROMS based on stock, or CM. Won't work for MIUI or non-CM ROMs.
In fact, if I remember correctly, Llama and Tasker etc (from the Play store product descriptions) do have the disclaimer that GPS toggle does not work.

Edit:
From Llama description: GPS (before Android 2.3 only or Cyanogenmod)
From the Tasker description: GPS Status (<2.3 or Cyanogen/submod)

quote from notification toggle app in the market.....- if your device is rooted, you can install the app in /system/app for direct GPS toggle even on Android 2.3+

General question, what could be going on for the phone not going into deep sleep? Since I've been having some rapid battery drainage for the past couple days, I've been keeping an eye on my CPU usage with CPU spy. So far everything looked great and the phone was going into deep sleep. I woke up this morning and checked CPU spy and I noticed that last night my phone didn't go to deep sleep. What can I do to make it go into deep sleep or what's causing it? Any thoughts?

Thank you all for your help on this in advanced.

well this isnt MIUI is it? your giving info based on a ROM that the user is not even using. So, the GPS in Notification toggles works on 98% of the ROMS available to us RAZR users. Seems silly to tell people it just wont work with any 3rd party apps doesnt it? Not trying to argue with you just trying to keep all the newbies informed that there are options that will work.

Well, you have a good point. The next time I find a ROM that it won't work, I'll PM you.... That's what I do for a living: testing mobile apps and write up reviews, of course, I mostly deal with vertical market sector (UPS, FedEx, hospitals, retailers) but I do make a point of testing new ROMs weekly. I've run across many ROMs that GPS toggle won't work (ROMS that are discussed daily here that I won't name), the toggle just brings up the Locations Settings screen.

well I havent had any problems with it turning GPS on and off on the ROMS I have tried out. It doesnt work right though unless you use titanium backup or something similar to change it into a system app. Prior to that it takes you just to settings.

You just have to copy the apk to system/app and make sure it has the proper permissions. TiBU is great though if I have to move a bunch of them at one time.

This may or may not be it.......... I cannot get MMS with wireless only connection. I have to toggle wireless OFF, 3/4G ON, then it arrives. I get NOTICE either way, but I cannot get the actual pic. I toggle wireless off, rec the message, then put it back on.

I use Llama to turn off 3/4G when wireless connects, to save battery and data, btw.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was stock on gingerbread I couldn't get pics through wifi either. I don't think that is a problem with the rom.

I don't think I've ever been able to get picture messages when on wifi.

Can I replace the gallery and camera with stock moto? I miss pressing the preview image on the camera and opening the last picture. If so, what files do i need?

I receive the text ok, but with the View MMS generic button (like newskate9 wrote). With wifi only, I don't believe you can download/view the pic. Rather, cellular mobile data has to be enabled. However, the notification does arrive. A while back, I wrote an app to enable mobile data for 5, 6 minutes when a mms arrives, then shut off mobile data if wifi is connected. ... don't know what happens to my source code. It didn't work anyway, because the MMS message does not automatically download the pic after the fact.

Yes mms comes through cell data. Your phone should automatically switch over to your data connection to download mms. Idk why it doesn't work for some people, it always works just fine for me.
