OK i went into one of my other rom zips that I knew it was working and extracted the gallery app, stuck it in place of the default gallery apk for Artic HD and changed permissions, deleted old gallery and then went back into sync settings and its working fine now. Good thought man. I really appreciate it!! I upload all my pics so I'm so glad to get this working!!

Glad it worked for you!

I killed my phone......... sort of! So I went to nonsafe side and the MYGALLERY is there, and it works. So I used TiBu to back it up. Went back to safe side to see if could restore it. Along the way, my battery was lower than I'd like, so I plugged it in. CRASH. The phone got confused and I lost the safe side - had to reflash the ROM, restore apps with TiBu. I did however, get the MYGALLERY restored too. And it worked, but would not sync with the server. So my NET is, my phone setup is nuts up and I have to reconfigure a lot of it. If I missed something - like "how did you "extract"" the app - please share when you have a moment. Backing it up and restoring to safe side seemed to work perfectly, but it won't find the server.

Back to setting up my phone............ AND before you all kick me for NOT doing a Nandroid BEFORE I started this quest - please be gentle. I did NOT. I should have. MY BAD. Getting what I deserve!!!! LOL.

I just went in to root browser, SD card, downloads , then found my old Simplex rom.zip clicked on it then system, apps found the gallery app, clicked on it and hit "extract". Then it saves it to a folder on your sd card directory called extracted I believe. I did just find one bug using this gallery which isn't a biggie for me. When you are in the Camera app and you click on the little box to.look at your past pictures it will not pull up the gallery
Which no big deal I just hit home then click on the actual icon to bypass the issue. Maybe that's why it wasnt used is its not completely compatible with the new camera apk
Still worth it for me to go to gallery and view all my Google photos.:-) . Hope you get all your issues resolved my friend! If you need me for anything id be glad to help. Been flashing every since the G1 but just hardly ever post anything
By the way I want to express my thanks for this terrific Rom . I have flashed about every single Rom out there and this is becoming my favorite. Much smoother scrolling experience is one of my favorite things about it!! I will be donating!!!

you guys having trouble need to know how to install a rom-do all wipes(data, cache, dalvik),format system, then install zip-you can complain all you want,if you do it right it works,if you don't do it right,it won't.Follow all directions in op(ALL)you will have no problems, and about updates-when your phone tells you updates available, then you'll have an update

If you are referring to my inability to make this ROM work on my RAZR, I don't believe I was complaining. In fact, I don't think I made any negative statements. Just that after my attempts to follow the instructions in the OP it doesn't seem to work for me. That's all.

Sorry for the update delay. You can find the QuickSettings launcher and widgets from here:

Unzip to SD card and install apks/replace previous apps.

NOT a flashable.

I unzipped to SD card, went into stock recovery to update. Clicked on file to update. And when it wanted to install its said " signature verification failed " I tried removing it and redownloaded the file just In case it was a bad download but no luck. Any thoughts on how I can have it update?

My first thought would be to read Matt's post a little more thoroughly. Especially the part highlighted in RED above.
This is not a flashable zip. You install each one by clicking on the apk file and overwriting the existing files. You do not install them from recovery.

OK, I gave this a try! I downloaded the SymplexROM. Use root exp to find the app - it was called GalleryGoogle. Extracted it fine, clicked to install - it said I had to allow 3rd party - so I did. CLicked it again, it ran, but said APP NOT INSTALLED. I FROZE the current gallery app, thinking there was a conflict - and it still didn't work. Did I find the right app?

Could someone just quickly enlighten me as to what the stuff included in Matt's latest update might be? "Quick settings/widgets"?

The basic ARCTIC HD with it's own launcher has widgets / circles that only work on that launcher. The RAZR HD also have something called QuickSettings. My understanding, Mr. Wizard (i.e. Matt and his friends), extracted that tools ( and others perhaps ) for our use on ARCTIC. I suspect they only work on the base launcher though.

At least............ that's what I THINK they are!

It is the launcher from the RazrM along with the updated Circles widget and accompanying support apks. The M launcher has the "Quick Settings" if you swipe the screen to the right from the Home screen.

I found another little thing that won't work for me. I use Speaktoit assistant and sometimes I'll ask "her" to remind me to do something at a certain time. I have had no problems in the past with this function. But on the ROM it goes through the entire process of taking all the information and even ask if it looks right to me. I'll answer yes and then it tells me something went wrong and can't save the reminder.

I even downloaded another alarm clock, one I have used before, to see if maybe that was it. I got the same error message. Has anyone else run across
this? Any ideas of what could be causing this?

Thanks...Papa T

I decided to uninstall the assistant and reboot. Then I went into the market and downloaded the app again. That did the trick, app now sets a reminder and opens at the specified time and announces my reminder.

Getting ready to download the update right now..

Stupid question, do I still need to do the normal wipe process when updating or will just flashing the update be fine without the wiping/factory reset.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but do the apks just sit on the SD card root directory? And then just uninstall the previous apps and reinstall? Just not sure I'm understanding the steps to take.

Install the apk files with a file explorer like ASTRO from play store. You click on INSTALL then YES to overwrite existing apk. You have to select install 3rd party apps under security

Thanks for a great ROM. Been using this for a few weeks and it's been very solid. Been getting around 15-18 hours of battery life my OG RAZR with moderate to heavy use, not too shabby at all. In fact it's way better than Moto's stock ICS. I'm using hotplugx governer btw.

Apart from a few minor complaints, this is one of the most stable ROMs I've had the pleasure of flashing. I especially love the new Google Voice Search. Google Now is also nice, but I turned it off since it wasn't as useful to me and that helped with the battery life.

However sometimes when using the system-wide Google Search and it gets me results from the internet the links do not open in Chrome (or any Browser). They highlight when I touch them but do not open. Sometimes it works when I force close Search and try again though.

So I was Just messing around with the circle widget and noticed if you flip the clock you can go between analog and digital. If you flip the weather circle it flips between cities you entered. Flip the battery circle and you get settings. Just found it and thought it was awesome. Little things in life make you happy. Cheers…

Do you know why the launcher force closes why I try to turn off/on GPS from the quick settings? I'm on Stock non rooted OG RAZR.

That's a side-effect of the M launcher on any device but the M. GPS will always force close the launcher from quicksettings
