Kinda. it just doesn't open up my txt service when I click on it, but it still gives me the update and dismisses it when i click on it.

Disable or freeze the stock messenger app and Handcebt should be default. That is how mine is and handcent is on the locksceen and voice commands opens handcent.
I agree with this... I just froze the default messaging app with TiBu. Works fine.

Ok, I see you still have this issue. I'm going to offer a few suggestions (in order from basic to advanced). These steps are not dependent of each other. In other words, if a suggestion fixes your issue, then stop. What you do with your phone... I will not be responsible.
First question: Is there any message in the notifications? Or just the "Sync not available" message in Settings - Accounts?
2nd: In your calendar app, did you select at least one Google calendar to sync?
3rd: Is this a personal gmail account? Or is it an enterprise Google Apps account?
1) Check to make sure you're not running low on memory. Calendar won't sync if this is the case.
2) Delete the Gmail account in Settings-Accounts. Recreate it.
3) If this is a corporate Google Apps account, then ask your IT about group policies.
4) If this is a personal account, do you have 2-step verification sign-on? If you do, then you have to use the calendar-specific password, not your Gmail sign-on.
5) Clear data for Calendar Storage in Settings - Apps. Reboot phone.
6) Download Synker from the Play store, that app has a function called Sync Inspector. It shows you what happens when your phone attempts to sync. I haven't had to use it in a while, but I believe it costs $1.99 for the unlock key to get more a more detailed log. It will show the last sync failure message, what account it's syncing, etc.
7) If necessary, perform a factory reset on the phone.
8) If all else fails, reflash the ROM per the ROM's designer's instructions.

james, in that same screen Accts & Sync tap on the circle w/two arrows next to your Google account & what does it show?
Well, if he's able to sync gmail, then he would have had to be syncing from the correct account..... unless he uses calendar from another gmail account.

AGAIN,guys with battery problems, don't use google now and give phone couple days to settle with battery-majority of people having no problems with rom,so if your having problems you are adding things, changeing things or something, give these devs a break
Amen brother.
(I myself probably can't survive without Google Now. Having the ability to pose a question, and it responds orally.. can't beat that. I carry an iPhone 4S too, and this beats Siri in many aspects. By the way, I get 27 hours with Google Now on the Maxx.)

At the lower left of the 2nd image, that widget shows when my battery will be depleted. It's 9:35am as I'm posting this, my phone will die in 15 hrs. It's been off the charger 15 hrs ago. Granted, I did sleep for 5 hours during which I didn't use the phone, lol.

Seriously considering installing this. Never installed a rom on the RAZR... been pretty happy with stock. Aside from Google plus, widget, battery percentage, and slight theme, what other sorts of differences are there?

Better CPU control with governor options, better speed and battery life tweaks, DSP manager (beats audio basically), all around faster more stable than stock. Anything these guys make is always pretty much amazing

I'm not complaining about battery life. I know it takes time to settle. My main point was the random reboot that happened... before updating I was hitting 22 hours and only at 30ish percent. No battery complaints here so far it's been better than arcticAGAIN,guys with battery problems, don't use google now and give phone couple days to settle with battery-majority of people having no problems with rom,so if your having problems you are adding things, changeing things or something, give these devs a break
