The apps I'm dropping in are replacing ones that already exist within the system. I have attempted to force stop these apps, however, still no result. My workaround has been to decompile the zip, replace what I'm looking to replace (with the addition of some tweaks) and then recompile the zip again.

Kind of a convoluted way of doing things, but hey, that's what I got.
And fyi, it does take care of the vibe issue.

For those modifying the ROM zip file before flashing it:

If you use windows, 7zip will allow you to drag and drop into the file at any place in the directory structure. No need to decompress the zip, replace files, and repack it.

Ark, the KDE Linux archive program, will do the same thing, sort of. You need to recreate a dummy directory structure with the file you're trying to replace in it, then drag the Root of that dummy tree to the root of the zip file.

Well, just had something un-good happen with this ROM, I've been running it since the 3rd on a clean install with all wipes, formats, etc and it was working fantastic. Yesterday afternoon, it started freezing up and would not respond to any of the keypresses and I had to pull the battery to get it back. I had this happen twice at work and three more times after I got home. The final time it happened, the phone was sitting in the charger dock with the screen off and when it locked up, it turned the screen on! What's most mystifying is that I haven't installed any new or updated apps since I set up the ROM. Anyone else have something like this happen or am I just the lucky one?

Try a different CPU governor like interactive or smartassv2.

For all of you having lag/freeze issues, what is your clock speed for the ics leaks? 1.0 or 1.2ghz?

I don't know if it's a cm9 issue, or just mine. But, can a few people run alogcat for like 5 minutes without touching the phone in that time?

I'm seeing network based time zone checking like every 60 seconds for your time zone. It needs to be WAY less often, I'd think. I disabled it and left it at network based time only, not time zone. I don't often change time zones! :-)

I'm also seeing a cron job for my_init being called nonstop. Literally every few seconds.

Like I said, not sure if this happens in this ROM, but I figured I'd throw it out since it's also a cm9 based ROM, in hopes that it helps people with battery life to kill unnecessary and way too frequent time zone checks

Note: I don't HAVE a my_init script anywhere on my entire phone. Not sure what's causing it to call a non existent script constantly. Going to dig through the source and let JP1044 and crew know if I find anything

I was running 1.0 and 800 (so it would charge better with the car charger).

I think he means what was your default clock speed after initially jumping on the leak.

Some were getting 1.2ghz and others were still at 1.0ghz

oopps, my bad. I guess it depended on which ROM I flashed, stock was 1Ghz but when I went to a couple of the CM9 releases for 232, it jumped to 1.2Ghz.

I'm looking through all the gov and sched threads... a lot of them have what gov u use and what schedule to match up. With boostedassv2 would you use noop? Most of the gov guides don't even have boostedassv2 updated in them. Also has anyone tried the newest ver. Of supercharger with this rom yet? Does it work or help?

I just wasted many, many hours trying to tackle the wifi tether problem. I tried using a different rom "Liquid ICS MR2.6 JMOD" and had the same result.
but check this out.

googling the wifi tether bionic ICS issue, there is an alleged fix: the "entitlement check mod", which references a file ( " com.motorola.android.providers.settings " ) NOT in my root directory on the SAFE side. I went back to unsafe system and the file is there.
So maybe this is helpful.

here's the discussion from

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

download both aShell and aSQLiteManager by ANDSEN in play store for free
before doing the mod i recommend you do a system backup 1st so if anything goes wrong you still have a back up

use aShell to look for the file " com.motorola.android.providers.settings " in /data/data/
select database
select settings.db
warning pop up " yes "
complete action using pop up " aSQLiteManager "
goto settings
data
pgdn til you find 147 entitlement_check
select edit then change value to 0

You can also use root explorer to find the database settings.db change its permissions to all allowed then use the SQLlite app to edit the entitlement_check from a 1 to a 0

works on 230 and 232

---

I then figured out a solution so my Nexus 7 tablet could see the tether, because apparently that device does see "ad hoc" networks.
First, download the latest beta version (WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.2-beta2 *** BETA ***) of Wifi Tether from google:

configure it thusly:

device profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan1)
Setup method: Netd (Master)
routing fix (down the settings menu a bit) must be checked

it works on my SAFE side now.
I have not tried going back to my ROM yet.

it is version

I think the lagging and freezing issues are related to cpus set at 1.0ghz on stock ics leaks are being overclocked and end up unstable

Sounds like both.

As far as the entitlement flag being set to zero, that's only going to affect your unsafe side. The safe side doesn't have an entitlement flag (which logically sounds like the same as setting it to zero)

Perhaps add that line setting it to zero to the appropriate file in your safe side rom.

Either way, that is supposed to affect whether or not vzw can tell you're tethering. At best, it will affect whether you can enable tethering, which we already can do. Our issue is the reboot that occurs when tethering is stopped, not getting it to start or to start and run under their radar.

Not saying you aren't on the right track to pull blur goodies in to work with. I'm just wondering if that's the right thing to pull in. Might need that in combination with something else. Might be something else entirely and not that bit at all.

Going to look into it as well, after I tackle these strange entries I my logs

Coming from me its more a dumbass remark! Just sayin. Most of us that are stuck at 1.0 tend to get a little pissy about Being stuck at 1.0. OK time to go put my big boy pants back on. I would love to be the first squeaky wheel with moto and vzw send it back and say its defective every body else is getting 1.2. Reckon I'd get any grease or would they fall all over the floor laughing?

It's not defective at all. We bought the phone knowing it was 1GHz. The extra .2 is there because some devices were made a bit differently and support it, so they figured "why not just enable it." Some do not (like mine, which sucks, but what are you going to do?).

When they finally release ICS officially, I'm sure it will say right in the changelog something like "Enabled 1.2GHz on supporting devices."

My 232 is at 1.2 - I'm one of the lucky ones...lags badly... I think it's related to the govs .. Mine hates the interactivex gov but was okay with the smartass2 but got very hot on a marathon angry birds episode. Maybe it's the noop scheduler....

Nice JP!!! Thank you!!!!!

Silly question, the changelog says removed Gmail, does that mean we can just install from the market?

Also, were you able to look at the bluetooth issue? or is that still a factor.....either way, can't wait to get home and try this :)
