Most likely its an app that is causing it. I had the same problem so I wiped reinstalled rom and loaded apps one by one without using any backup tool.

If you're wondering how to check if your phone is going into deep sleep then download CPUSpy and open it...click reset stats (or something like that) and turn your screen off right after that...Leave your phone alone for 5 minutes, then check CPUspy to see if it was deep sleeping.

As for the guy with bad battery on the maxx....You may have a defective battery. You have to realize not every battery is going to be perfect, chances are low but it can happen.

I just went on an app hunt this evening... My phone logged a lot of 300Mhz time, but no deep sleep. Turned out it was clock sync running in auto mode, uninstalled it, rebooted and deep sleep was back! If you have Tibu or any app that allows freezing, that makes a nice non-violent way to isolate a rogue app. The last time this happened, my CPU never dropped below 1200! Talk about a short-lived hand warmer in your pocket!

Love this ROM. One thing I did after installing was to 'Fix Permission' Prior to running that the phone had issues, Swype didn't launch, various Apps installed via Titanium Back up were glitchy, No-Frills CPU was acting strangely, etc...

I'd recommend to all that, after you load the ROM and wait the 5 minutes, if your phone is still not right, run 'Fix Permissions' from the SafeStrap package. Did a world of good for me!

Another status update:

Customizable Pulldown Toggles - half done
Another attempt to fix hangs by increasing cache pressure and tweaking minfrees - done
SuperSu + Notification Toggles in the settings - half done
Might take out OTA Updater as it's a pain for me - half done
More tweaks - done
Some more debloating - done
Tweaked framework to improve system responsiveness - done
Working on this stuff
Overclocked to 1300Mhz - Never mind, l will not include, use the downloadable script
Working on these:
Frequency Tweaks
Barely undervolted for other frequencies

Well shiz mayne, if you have the stability done then you should just release that now! Keep all the fancyness for a later update.

Haha, but last night I did some lockscreen themeing, tweaked the framework for even more system responsiveness and their actually some really cool stuff that Moto has disabled in framework-res.apk!

Their still needs to be some testing that it is actually fixed. I never have had a hang... but it seems many people have only had the problem with the browser.

I also appreciate the work you are doing here. Just for clarity: I get the hang with many apps. I typically point out the browser because it is the easiest to reproduce the issue. But, if I had to take a wild guess I would say it *might* be related to network activity. It could be coincidence but it seems like every time I get into a hang situation it is when something (possibly multiple somethings) fetching data.

Okay, it could be some of my network tweaks then, I'll take them out and get a test build ready. I'm getting close to being finished with this new build. :)

Bytecode, you should add cpu sleeper to the app list.

I had many hang ups with a lot of apps I ran. I changed to hotplug, lowered up threshold, and overclocked to 1.25 mhz. I have had no issues hanging since for about 2 1/2 days.

How do you lower the threshold?

If you have set cpu you go to The govenor tab and you will have setting for the govenor. Make sure you have hotplug as the default govenor in cpu no frills app in the system settings. Change the up threshold to say 40 or 50. Change the sampling rate to 45000. I also changed the down threshold to 25 or 30. You can tweak the settings to your specific device but those are the seTtings I used. Hope that helps.

Couldn't you go into the system directory and edit the threshold of lets say hotplugx and or peaques?
