I know that mod is supposed to work for this phone (and it worked great on the other ROM), but I didn't know if there was anything that might keep this particular ROM from using the mod. So, just curious if anyone out there is running it / had this issue before.

Can anyone confirm if Ac!D audio mod works for this? I had tried another rom the other day just to see what Jellybean was like on this phone... and the mod came with a version of Ac!d mod, which I noticed a BIG difference when I played music in my car stereo. Seeing as Flick is the best ICS ROM I have tried, I wanted to add this to it. I have flashed the mod and done everything as the instructions says to do (including renaming / disabling DSP manager) but when I play any kind of music, it only plays for about a second and then it goes silent.

I've used the mod on this ROM so I know it works, did you use the universal zip file?
I stopped using it for several reasons:
Bloaty libs increased size
Audio needs to go through much more processing causing UI lag
DSP Manager can supply decent sound with half the libs of what's in AC!D, so you'll probably see some increased audio, but not the whole package.

Byte, great to hear I have been so happy with Flick. I haven't had one reboot, lock up or boot loop. Very smooth and anyone having these issues must have a problem with another app causing them. Keep up the Outstanding work !!!
Carl
I agree, this ROM runs flawless (and fast!) No reboots, lock-ups or anything of that nature for me.

And to think if the 1K people who've downloaded this all have feedback.

I did (version 5) along with the Walkman mod. Sound from DSP is pretty good, but the one thing I've noticed from the Ac!D mod is that I don't get any distortion at max volume like I do with DSP. When I use my car dock, I have my phone plugged into the AUX port of my car. On any rom (not just this one), when at max volume, the actual music distorts at certain points. I have to cut back the volume at least 1 or 2 notches and it goes away. However, running the Ac!d mod, this distortion is not present. (I have a few songs that I use to test it out because I know where to look for it.)
What I did notice, however, is that my music will play for a split second and then go silent. If I bring back my DSP manager (right now, I have it disabled by just renaming it to .txt for the extension) the music plays right without any issue. I have confirmed that my build.prop edits are in there (for Ac!D), but for some reason, I have feeling it is still trying to use DSP to play back my audio. So, I'm not sure what the issue is.

This rom is awesome. I only had one issue with it. I was actually downloading a stock rom while using this rom and I have no idea how but for some reason it decided to download it 10 times even though I only clicked it once. This made me go over my data allowance and owe out of the gluteus maximus for overages. Oh well...I don't blame you. I know you have a disclaimer. It just sucks lol
Tell Verizon the problem you had downloading something and what it did. They should credit you back. They have always been very responsive to me if I have any billing problems, and I have been a Verizon customer since 1996 !!!

I keep getting background data restricted errors regardless of whether I have the warning checked or not in data usage in settings
Any ideas?

Don't have much experience with the Data usage monitor, nor have I had that problem with it.
Question for everyone. What is a good wifi hotspot app to use with this rom? I've been using foxfi but since it updated to a new version it now has usage limits and other wifi hotspot apps need certain kernels to make it work. i've tried using a few different ones like wifi tether for root users and it always gives me an error. Any apps working for you guys? Or how can I make wifi hotspot work with this rom?
Try the built in tether?

I've thought about that but i just dont want to get charged for using the tether. Has anyone attempted that option?Don't have much experience with the Data usage monitor, nor have I had that problem with it.

Has worked fine for me in the past, used it for all of 5 minutes lol
Getting Ubuntu and Android build environment setup up tonight and tomorrow night. Might see some AOSP source in the Blur.

Hey guys...so I'm still pretty new at this. I was hoping to get an answer. I am customizing my ROM slots...how much space should I partition for a custom ROM? Is 1GB enough? Or do I do the 2 or 3 GB options?
In my opinion 1gb is enough for each rom slot. Unless you run a crapload of apps you shoudnt run out of space. Some people might run a bunch of games that are 100mb a piece and will run into low memory issues but that's rare. This is juat my opinion. Others might have different views.

Agreed. If you're just checking out different ROMs to see which one you like, then 1gb is plenty. You can even load a few apps in there to play with. 2gb will satisfy most people with their complete compliment of apps and ROM. 3gb Is a waste of space Unless you're going for a complete alternate ROM with full accounts, apps (225+) and/or LARGE games. I got a 3 and a 1 slot. A few ROMs timeshare the 1.

Thanks. 1GB is what I figured. I'm going to flash this ROM and really give it a run. I've been running the Evolution 5.1 ROM and it's been great actually, but I don't want to settle on the 1st custom ROM I've ever flashed onto my device. I want to try a few. On another note, I was told that If I wanted to flash ICS ROMS that it's best to do it on Slot 2 and above? And a JB ROM on Slot 1? Is that true? Also...how do you 'timeshare' space between two ROMS? Is there an option in Safestrap that I'm missing?

The wifi teather option uses data so if your still on unlimited data its no problem. There is also a video( ) that show how to turn on verizon provisioning so the built in hot spot works. There are alternatives to the app he suggests buying.
