You will need a file browser and text editor, I use ES File Explorer so I recommend that. Open ES then settings --> Scroll down to Other Settings --> Root Settings --> Check All boxes --> Go back to main screen.

Navigate to /system/build.prop --> Open with ES Note Editor

Under # System property for Security Middleware Component change ro.HorizontalBUA=false

Under # Additional_Build_Properties change ro.HorizontalBUA=false and ro.HorizontalVVM=false

Menu --> Save --> Reboot Phone

Gave this a try and it still will not install. I checked the permissions to make sure they were the same on the vmm.apk as others in the /system/app folder. Also tried installing it from the external sdcard and no go. If you think of anything else, I would appreciate it.

I loaded up 5.0 yesterday and it is fast! I did notice a few things...1. There are 2 email accounts. When trying to set up email it gives the options of two different types of email. One AOSP and the other moto. 2. When I press the power button the phone restarts. My screen will time out normally but if I long press the power button to get the power options it restarts. Just my observations so far. I haven't seen anyone else reporting the power button issue so I may try to reflash. I did all the wipes before installing the ROM.

Yeah, I guess I didn't do a good job of cleaning up all the way from my little experiment with Gapps. My Power Menu works fine.

Just did a full wipe and flashed to Flick 5.0. Here are a few issues I am having.

1) Installed Apex so be able to import my settings from Apex to Nova but can't get past the Start button on the Nova import.
2)Can't seem to update the SuperUser Binary version. Shows a blank space for the currently installed version when trying to update.
3)Tried to run Fix Permissions in recovery but didn't help with either issue.

What do you mean Start button? Superuser binary is already fully updated, no need for it, though I don't have that problem.

having said that something was done to 5.0 so that the flash browsing is not quite as good on the ics plus browser as it was on previous versions of flick. When byte said he was thinking of instaling chrome I knew he was going to neglect maintaining whatever was needed to keep flash browsing up to par on 5.0. Flash is a major item that sets google apart from the rotten apples!

I didn't do anything that would affect flash, I even took out the extra libs in /system/lib from Chrome to make sure nothing was affected. If you install the apk it will work just as it was before, nothing was done so that it will no longer work.

I would appreciate it if anyone can come up with a way to get Verizon's Visual Voicemail to work. It is handy for work and since I pay for the service, I would like to get it working. I have tried installing it, pulling it from a nandroid backup off another rom, Nothing I do will let it install for me. Any help is appreciated.

I'll look into this a little bit. Might not be installing as some blur dependency is missing. Maybe you have damaged apk? Just going through my thought process.

I do have flash working now, mostly, I found where someone had posted a working apk of it within minutes of my last post. I'm noticing two other things that I'm trying to nail down....and these may or may not be the rom, I think its more something i did wrong......

Overclock doesn't seem to stick. I downloaded the 1325 file, renamed it to UV, deleted the original and placed the oc file into init.d, and no frills does show 1325 as the max speed. However, sometimes when running in lapdock I'll set the minimum speed to 1325 as well, and everything runs awesome for maybe 10-15 minutes. after awhile, I notice it slows down, and if I go back to no frills, it's showing 300 as minimum again. Also, when I click "stats", it actually shows the phone running at 1.2 as a max and shows that its still cycling between the lower frequencies most of the time. It seems like I just can't make the settings stick. I flashed over 4.8, wiped dalvik and cache only. I don't believe I did anything about "setting permissions" with the oc file, in case that makes a difference?

Also, and this could be for a lot of reasons...... I use twonky as a dlna server. I have a receiver that is a year or two old but can read basic dlna servers and play music, and twonky seems to be the only server that just works awesome on it. When its running in the background, it leaves a notification on the phone that its running. However, randomly, it just stops serving. The notification is there, but if i click it, it tries to launch and then disappears. I have to relaunch the program, then exit it, and relaunch it again in order to restore functionality on the network. No real reason or rhyme, it can die after a single song or after a half hour. Im not seeing any FC dialog or anything, it just seems to get...put away by android maybe? Whether the screen is on or off has no effect, and I really don't know where to start trying to figure out what the deal is with this.

Otherwise, awesome rom.

What is your battery life?
I have clean install of flick 5.0, and have now 17hrs on 1 charge, 40% battery left, 2.5 hrs of screen time.
Not maxx.

On 19h 6m 10s, I have 58% left. Screen time shows 1.5 hrs. OG Razr as well.

66% after flashing, downloading ~15 apps, and keeping it awake for ~5 hours.

Yesterday after flashing I recalibrated my battery. It took 9 hrs to get down to 8%, Ieft my screen on at 100% brightness, ran music player, had my flashlight on and re downloaded all my apps. And thats with not even turning on the cpu control yet. Never had to wait that long before with any other rom.

I did something a little different. I originally copied the oc1325.bin to init.d folder and deleted uv. It would not hold when I rebooted. On the next boot, I went in and took the .bin off the oc1325 file and it started working. It loads at 1325 with hotplugx and cfg and has never lost it. I don't know if this will help you or not, but it worked for me.

That is with a day at work and a full 9 hours of sleep. Mainly listen to music, check email, and send/recieve txts. I do everything else on my Nexus 7.

I had removed the bin from the end of the file when I changed its name to UV, and it does show up as 1325 in no frills, the governer is set as pegasusq and sio is enabled, and that much seems to stick from boot forward, but whatever changes i make in the settings won't stick for more than a few minutes after that. it's almost similar to the problem where twonky keeps dissappearing, something like the system kills it after awhile for some arbitrary reason I can't uncover, but if i go back in and force the change again, it sticks for maybe 10 minutes.

I never named mine to UV but don't know if that makes a difference or not. I started mine up by using Root Explorer and opened with Linux Script Handler, then set it up in No Frills. I am not an expert on this by any means, just sharing what worked for me. Good luck, hope you get it working.

Sorry Byte. I hope I haven't offended you. The meticulousness and amount of work you have put into your rom is extaordinary which is why I donated to you a week or two ago. I love the rom and everything works well for me. I hope more people who use this as their dd also donate to support you.
